Never seen Les Mis? That's a crime and you should be punished.

What is the punishment? Having to sit thru a movie almost 3 hours long without popcorn and m&ms?
eeeek!

As much as abortion rights always seem to be on the table as something that might go away, I never thought about how the law would be enforced, or what would happen to a woman who had one. The idea that a woman could get 'caught' is disturbing. I imagine law enforcement would need a branch to focus on arresting women and doctors.
Many women would get 'caught' because back alley abortions often lead to other health issues like a punctured uterus or some other horrific thing I don't want to think about, so they wind up needing other medical attention. Like in Dirty Dancing.. but So yeah, send the women to jail because they're not suffering enough living through this brutality in the first place.
My father worked in hospitals as an accountant for years and years. He said that back in the 60s and 70s, the very wealthy could still get abortions in hospitals and it would just be worded differently on their medical records, because if you're part of the 1%, you ARE a special snowflake and the rules don't apply to you.

But there's never a word about the deadbeat dads that abandon their kids and never provide a penny of financial support for their offspring, and just move on to impregnate the next woman. What's the punishment for not taking responsibility for your children once they're born?

Re: Trump campaign manager arrested for battery
I hate Trump but I cannot stand people taking things he said out of context. I mean really, he says enough stupid shit that we don't have to spin something he said (in response to a specific question) to make it look like he thinks any woman who gets an abortion should get the death penalty. Maybe read the entire article and not just the headlines.

Serious question...whats wrong with what he said about abortions? WAIT!! let me finish. I'm not saying abortions are wrong (I think everyone should be able to choose)
Isn't what he said something like this: "If abortions are banned, then whoever gets one should be punished"
Whats wrong with that? (I'm NOT referring to whether abortions should be illegal). Isn't he just saying - "If XYZ is the law, and people break it, then they should be punished"
Isn't that like saying "If its illegal to drink orange juice (even though that would be a stupid law) if you are caught drinking orange juice, then you should be punished"
There's a MMA fighter named Nick Diaz who was suspended for smoking weed. The general consensus is - "There's nothing wrong with smoking weed, BUT it is against the rules (even though its a stupid rule) and he knew it and he broke the rule so he is getting punished"
But someone who cares about women should then be saying "But I will work my butt off in protecting women to make the best choices for themselves so this will never happen."
If there was a law being considered that having long hair is to be banned, I'd like my leader to say "I'd never let that happen". Not "Welp.... Guess all those long haired asssholes gonna pay."
Blacks were arrested at one time for drinking out of the wrong water fountain. If we continued to shrug and scratch our heads and say well... Watcha gonna do? Then we would have never made progress as a country.

Honestly, I can't believe we are really still talking about this. Seriously. I'm catholic and lean right and I really think its time we move on from threatening to overturn Roe v. Wade. It's so backwards. Are we really going to go back to coat hanger abortions? Let it go already.

Re: Trump campaign manager arrested for battery
The state dropped the charges because there was not enough evidence to prosecute. It was posted on cnn but I can't get the link to post.
