Am I missing something? I just googled the video and I am surprised that someone would be arrested for battery for what he did. I've been pushed worse on the NYC subway during rush hour.

Yes, I think you are. He pulled her by the arm away from Trump and physically moved her to be behind both him and Trump.

To my eyes she seemed to be fine and continue walking
Also saw the bruise on her arm. For sure from that incident? I can't tell if that's the part of her arm he touched - doesn't look like it in the video
Either way - I think Battery is a stretch

I am not a trump fan, but this reporter touched trump twice and was asked multiple times by the secret service to stop and to not touch a candidate. I looked at the video and it does not look like a hand could grip her the way she is alleging because his arm is pulling her back yet the injury shows he on top of her arm. Had the injury happened the way she is stating it would be on the bottom of her arm, not the top.

Reporters are sometimes really out of line, as I think she was. And i'd say the same no matter who the political figure involved was. It's obnoxious.

ITA. From the video I saw, she just kept on walking. She didn't almost fall down. At least not from what I saw.

I totally agree, this was blown way out of proportion just because it was Trump. If a male reporter was approaching Clinton in the same way and a member of Clinton's team pushed him out of the way, nobody would even notice.

I didn't see anything really incriminating on the video, but the quality of the video wasn't great either.
On a slightly related note, nothing about any candidate surprises me anymore. Lewandowski's lawyer had to quit his job as a U.S. Attorney because he bit a stripper.
You can't make this shit up.

Exactly. Here is the link to the info, pictures and video. Battery is a real reach. She was doing the wrong thing and is twisting this b/c it's Trump. So she can repeatedly touch Trump, esp with this object in her hands (could be anything harmful to him) but they can't then touch her??

If Trump or anyone on his team gave hugs out, it would be assault and people would spin it that way.
This woman is an asshole and good thing her embellished accusation was caught on camera.
No matter how you feel about someone, let's look at what really happened and tell the truth. People always want to see what they want to see, it's sad.

I am- but I think eyewitnesses are going to be more important than the video. Trump also claimed she was grabbing him but from what I can make out the video, she was to his right and had her phone in her left hand and it does not appear that she touched him. Though I still think it does not look like she was assaulted from the video alone.

I'm not a Trump supporter at all. But this whole scenario is nonsense. Of course he denied knowing her. Would you remember one reporter out of so many that day? If someone told me I was being arrested for battering someone, I would think it's someone I had more then a 5 second interaction with. I'd say the exact same thing... "like wtf I never even met that person, how could I batter them?"

She may have been in the wrong, but if it was no big deal, why did Lewandowski lie multiple times about the incident? Tweeting that she was "delusional" and that he never touched her or had even met her? Just apologize and move on. But, don't flat out lie about it knowing there are multiple cameras on you. To me, that is worse than what he actually did.
And all afternoon and at the town hall last night Trump is making himself a victim. Even going so far as to say she had something in her hand which could have been a weapon (it was a pen). Give me a break. If secret service thought she was a threat, they would have been on her. But, you can see Lewandowski reaching over SS to grab her.
