Groupon refunds

Has anyone had luck getting groupon to refund your money?

Trying to get our money back (we purchased an "experience" groupon while on vacation. Every time we went to do the attraction, it was closed due to the weather. We never got to do the attraction and therefore never got to use the groupon). We got home from vacation and contacted groupon but they state they only issue refunds after 3 days and that we should gift it. However, no one we know is traveling where we went.

Any experiences ?

What about if they just gave you a credit towards another groupon?

They didn't mention that as an option. Just that we give it to someone as a gift. I wouldn't mind that option you suggested.

Just tell them you tried to use it multiple times, it was closed and now you are unable to use it due to the distance. Also, you can tell them if they don't credit you, you'll do a charge back. I've never had a problem getting a credit from Groupon, especially when it's the vendors fault.

ETA: they usually credit me a little extra for "my trouble" too ... they are very good about it.

I've had to ask groupon for a refund twice. First time was no problem. The second time (a month ago) they gave me the same story as you. After going back and forth a few times, I just told them I was pregnant and couldn't use it. They refunded me right away.
