S/O of wedding cost thread - Here are the numbers
I'm bored at work today.
21 people answered a non disclosed day:
Average was $108.85
22 people answered Friday Night:
Average was $89.90
4 people had Saturday afternoon:
Average of $90.75
33 People answered for Saturday night:
Average of $121.66
24 people answered for Sun night: (I also lumped in the Monday and holiday people on this date as well)
Average is $105.71
This is not including tax and tip for most answers.

wow. you were really bored.
interesting info.
if i get hitched again, i'm running off to vegas... going through a drive-thru chapel and having In N' Out on our way back home. then a back yard bbq to celebrate.
i did city hall when i was 21 and knocked up.
i did the big fancy wedding when i was 33 and thought i had "made it"
maybe we'll just live in sin for the rest of our lives.

I have to ask you, what brands are you wearing, or bringing with you like purse or shoes when you talk pricing with these places because my brother and soon to be sil did not get those kinds of quotes. They got a much lower rate...

And these are all quotes for a wedding in less than 6 months

these were for a Saturday night??!!! some of these are crazy 
I just answered the other thread I had a Friday night wedding and paid 65++ and only had min of 100 people. I also only booked when I was 6 months away

I looked at the Carlton in 2004 and it was 175 then. You are looking at great, but expensive places. There are other places for less.

Everything in life is negotiable.
I personally don't think wedding costs are worth it. I just don't. I think it's a complete waste. Thousands and and thousands of dollars for 5-6 hours .. Insane. I rather go on an amazing, super fun trip and just do dinner with close family and friends when you return. Is that an option?

yeah these are fancy places, you know I am looking w my SIL and these are the sort of quotes she has gotten for a Sat night as well.

I had 6 people that were in the $175+ category. I had 3 in the $160.
Everyone else was about $75 to $130.
YOU might be looking at places like that. but that's not what the ladies on here experienced.
Interesting.
ETA. I just saw your post about WHERE you are looking. Those are uber high end wedding venues.

this is 100% accurate! i got married on a friday night in June 2014 and I paid more then that. I actually think a quote for $160 for a Saturday night is good. I checked out 13 halls before we booked and every quote for a saturday night was close to or over $200

even catering halls on LI not on this list are 160. Its not impossible to find a place for a lot less but MOST places average around that price.

I also got married in 2014 but booked a high end hall (flower field) for a Saturday night and paid 110pp. Like someone else said everything is negotiable we started out at $155pp. There wasn't a thing we didn't get besides their large seafood bar.

I think the data is a little outdated. There are people who responded who have been married for 10+ years. Even prices from 5 years ago are probably not accurate for today. I have heard that where I had my wedding is now upwards of $200/head but when I booked it was a relatively new catering hall so the prices were much more reasonable.

That's great. I was married there in 2010, right after their renovations, a Friday night in June and paid c. $185 pp (including tax and grat). No Viennese hour (though we didn't want one). We were really happy with everything though, the food was great, the ballroom itself was beautiful, etc etc.
