My moms friend daughter did it, had no luck with men but wanted a baby she is in her 40's. I say go for it.
Actually this was my plan if I was not married by 38 I would of so done this.

I am divorced for 5 years. I have always known wanted to be a mom. So I am trying to get pregnant as a single parent by choice. Praying it works!
Money might be tight as a single parent, but that's a sacrifice I am willing to make :)

This kinda reminds me of myself when I was a younger and couldn't meet good material guys, only azzholes. I used to tell my sister that if I wasn't married by 35, I was gonna have a baby on my own. My sister almost had a heart attack (my family is very traditional) 
If I was in ur friend's shoes, I'd totally have a child in my own, especially if I had that feeling of being ready to be a mommy, the joy that a child can bring is unmeasurable!
