55+ Communities, where?!

Does anyone know of any affordable 55+ communities in the eastern nassau/western suffolk area?
I've been searching online for my mother, but haven't found too much and would prefer some personal recommendations. Thank you so much!!

Kings Park Manor in Kings Park. It's a nice, well cared for community.

Are you looking for rental or something to purchase, like a co-op? My mother bought a co-op in the Melville Knolls (right on the Nassau County border) and loved it there. I'm pretty sure there are a bunch of them around, just not exactly sure of where. Did you do a search on MLSLI?

My grandma lives in Snug Harbor in Amityville and its beautiful there. They have a big lagoon, a pool, a clubhouse, a library, etc. Taxes are low and it was one of the only places she could find in Nassau

Re: 55+ Communities, where?!

I will be moving from my townhouse community soon. It's not technically labeled a 55+ community but everyone here is retired. Everyone. We also get maintenance taken care of like landscaping and snow removal, there's a clubhouse with a library and workout equipment, a pool with a lifeguard, tennis courts.. Fm me for details!

Wanted to add-- it's only to purchase. No rentals here, we own our home.

I know its not exactly where you are looking but there's a 55+ community in Westbury right next to the Target and Chilis. I can't remember the name of it, but its fairly new (within 5 years) and looks nice.

I think she would prefer to buy, but renting is also an option. Just want to find a place that is in a good location and a good fit for her.
Thank you for all of the suggestions, I will be looking into all of them!

The one just south of Chilis I thought I heard was 700k to buy into it....

There is a very affordable one in East Meadow, on Merrick Ave across from the assisted living place, cant think of the name now. A bunch of ladies in the rosary society have been happy there.

Yes a lot of them, especially in Nassau are really $$$. Looking more in the low 300s or possibly even a rental.
