Flying out of LGA - transportation
So.. What's the easiest way to go? Not wanting to pay for parking if we can avoid it.

Where do you live? Transtar Executive is owned by one of the girls on here. They are reasonable.

I used TranStar for my wedding and they are reasonable but when I priced them Miller Place to LGA they were $205 each way.

We have used Jennie's and they are great and the kids loved the limo aspect of it! But, if cost is an issue, you are better off looking into the park and fly places near the airport.

Re: Flying out of LGA - transportation
I'm not familiar with a way to take the train to LGA - is it possible?? I imagine it would involve a transfer to a bus from somewhere...
Get some car service quotes and compare with LGA long term parking. If your flight is early, you shouldn't have an issue getting a spot in lot P3 (long term) and it may end up being cheaper than round trip car service.

Re: Flying out of LGA - transportation
160 each way is INSANE!
take the LIRR to woodside and just take a cab from there.
use uber or the green cabs. if you spot a gypsy cab, confirm the price BEFORE you get in or else they will rip you off. and as always kids, make sure the green/yellow cabs start the meter as soon as you get in.
cab fare from woodside to lga should be approx $15.

Re: Flying out of LGA - transportation
LOL! Car service from my house to JFK if $150-$160. However, I LOVE the airtrain and do it all the time (even though work would cover my car service to airport) because the airtrain is just so easy and stress free and NO TRAFFIC to worry about.
However, the night I flew in from Chicago it was late and I didn't want to take the Aitrain and wait around Jamaica at that hour so I did the Uber home. Work paid though so it was no skin off my back!

Re: Flying out of LGA - transportation
then again a cab tried ripping us off a few weeks ago. $85 from jfk to ASTORIA. my bf went ape sh!t on the driver. Paid him $50 and gave him a tip. that made me more angry. so I guess $145 is about right. ugh.. if you can save 100+ taking public transportation, do it

Re: Flying out of LGA - transportation
the cabs are usually parked on the street by each entrance. Try to get in a green cab if you can. once you are in the station at woodside take the staircase located to the left of the booth where the ticket agent should be sitting ( left if you are facing the booth) the green cabs are at the bottom of those stairs.
