Cupcakes for adults at a childs bday party?
I wouldn't get the adults a different dessert than the kids because I could see the kids then wanting both desserts...
I would say get a batch of mini cupcakes for the adults. Cupcakes are so easy, no utensils.

I don't think a lot of adults eat the cake. Sometimes they don't eat the pizza. If there's extra give it out but it is not necessary to get something extra for them.

Re: Cupcakes for adults at a childs bday party?
so after going back and forth I just ended up ordering extra cupcakes. the extra ones were only a $1 each and any cookie/pastry tray would have cost me about $30+ anyway so I figure why add another thing to my plate and have to go order and pick something up ... i felt weird buying cupcakes/cake from another place just for adults; I know it probably wasn't a big deal but I figured if i am going to server them cupcakes/cake i thing it should all be from the same pave ... I got a total of 60 hopefully its enough and hopefully I don't end up with a huge amount left over

I wouldn't get cupcakes just for the adults. Any party I have been to that had cupcakes, none were provided for adults. When there is a sheet cake they walk a few leftover slices around. I rarely see more than 1-2 parents actually eat it. You did say you were providing food for the adults, that is enough. If you were not providing food then I would get the cupcakes. Honestly while all parties we go to have food for the adults I rarely see anyone actually eat it. I see parents getting platters of wraps or sandwiches, which go uneaten. If it was a bbq at your house I might feel differently, but it is a kids party, as an adult I do not expect dessert and food. I would get some cookies if you feel you need something more.
