Dear DH

Dear DH,
After the dog is fed she needs to be let out so she doesn't use the bathroom on the floor!!!Chat Icon
Sincerely,
Your annoyed wife!!

So we just adopted a dog on Sunday. I left at 5:45 this morning before work. Let her out, she ate, DH had one job to do after he showered, LET HER OUT!!!! No instead he said she didn't get out of bed to use the bathroom- hello she's been here 2 days, she doesn't know. So he leaves. My mom is going in and out and checking on her this week since she is off, sure enough my mom gets there and sees she went to the bathroom on our rug. I could shoot him. He should have just picked her up and brought her outside- he knew this would happen. Why does he have to be so dumb sometimes?!? He even left early to go into work early just because, not because he needed to- why couldn't you take 5 minutes and bring her outside??? So annoyed!!!!

Re: Dear DH

We adopted our dog 3 years ago. When we first got him, we kept him in a long hallway with baby gates when we weren't at home- with his bed, toys and water. We did that until we knew he was fully trained.

Dear DH

That's really annoying! I could see my DH doing that and then being annoyed that the dog had an accident. Hopefully he (your DH) learned his lesson and will make sure the dog takes care of business from now on.

And congrats on the new family member! Chat Icon

Re: Dear DH

If you want your dog to be trained properly and as quickly as possible, you need to have discussions and a plan regarding training your dog. Did you discuss how it would work out beforehand? Too many times people do not have these discussions and the pet pays the price when owners get frustrated when the dog goes in the house.
