3 day potty training

Ok starting this now. Dd was so excited to go to the store yesterday and pick out her underwear. She threw out all her diapers this morning and literally kissed them goodbye. So cute. We're 1 accident in this morning. Few questions

1-3day says to wear underwear. Friend says no underwear. What to do?

2-3day says not to keep asking them if they have to go but to say "let mommy know when you have to go" and not to put them on the potty to try. Friend says ask every ten minutes or put them on the potty to try. What to do?

3-3day says potty in the bathroom so they learn to run to the bathroom. Friend says in the room so they don't pee all over the floor etc. what to do?

And 4-this sucks

Re: 3 day potty training

Ok, here is what worked for us.
1. We had her wear underwear.
2. I asked her every five minutes (at least that's what it felt like), if she had to go pee or poops.
3. We have a little portable potty that I carried wherever we were. If we were upstairs, it was either in the upstairs bathroom or the bedroom. If we were downstairs, it was in the living room.

She was pee trained very quickly. She had only one accident the first day. And one other accident a week or so later when she was sick. Poop took a little bit longer, maybe a month.

Good luck!!

I did all the opposite of 3 day. We went pant less, asked about every 20-30 minutes or so and tried about every 30 minutes. and kept the potty in the family room so it was close by. My son was trained on PP immediately, my second daughter took a little while longer. My third daughter was stubborn and refused it but once she decided she wanted to be a big girl and wear underwear that was it. No accidents.

All I will say is every kids is different and what works for one might not work for another. Do what works for you and try not to stress because eventually it will happen!

Update. Dd is getting it really fast and she told me twice she had to make a pee per. Once she made it and the other she went on the bathroom floor. She was so close.

The issue is I have an almost 6 month old that was crying. Will be so much easier when dh is home later and off the next 3 days to help. It's so so hard with a baby too.

I'm so proud of dd tho for already recognizing the feeling and telling me.

Again. This sucks.

That's great that she's getting it so well! DD trained when my little one was 5 months so it was interesting. I feel like we all spent a few weeks crammed in our tiny bathroom with me nursing sitting on dd's step stool. Getting pants and undies up and down one handed is a talent too! I have to say those days were still easier than now when the baby is mobile and wants to stand at the potty with dd1 and tries to climb to step stool and flush.

Yay! Great start. And while it may suck now, NOT changing diapers anymore is just awesome!! Think of it that way Chat Icon Chat Icon

What about nap time and bedtime? I'm not planning on night training yet so was going to give her special nighttime underwear. Aka nighttime pull-up

Underwear and we always had the potty in the bathroom. I just keep reminding him to run to potty when he felt he needed to go. I never asked if he had to go.

This is a hot mess. She completely gets it mentally and tells me when she has to go but doesn't make it to the potty in time.

Sorry, it's not really harder. In fact it would be a breeze if dd would just closer the bathroom door but she gets lonely. Chat Icon

Just getting it at all is great for the first day. She just had to learn to recognize the feeling sooner to get there in time. Every accident is teaching her that though so hopefully she'll catch on quickly. I trained completely from day one but dd always wow up dry. If she doesn't yet I'd just do pull ups for naps and bed. I layered some disposable waterproof pads between sheets for easy changes in case of accidents though.
