I am guessing they are pursuing a suspect heading south from the mall as cops with lights and sirens keep flying by my office in that direction.

Hang in there. They'll likely send in BSO -- it's like Nassau's version of SWAT -- to get you guys out as soon as they are able to. Then, they'll sweep the mall. Just be advised, the BSO guys are in head-to-toe black SWAT gear. They are the best of the best though so you'll be in great hands.
Prayers to you that you get out of there SOON and SAFELY.

It was one single shooter already in custody from what we are hearing.
I have heard the same. It was initially reported as a burglary. Evidently, right outside the vicinity of the mall - perhaps the parking lot? I know they have someone in custody but of course, you don't know for sure that he/she is the ONLY shooter or that there's nothing else in the mall that may be a cause for concern. So, typically they'll send in BSO to do a sweep and allow people to leave before they can declare the area OK to be reopened.

There will be a press briefing at 2:30pm and 1010 WINS and perhaps News 12 will likely do a live shot/feed. So, if anyone wants to listen or watch.
But for now, the whole thing seems to be under control. And it appears it was thank God just the one person/shooter.

Now they're saying it's the Tourneau store, which is next to rolex. The neiman marcus wing is closed and the rest of the mall is open according to the most recent report.

Yeah that's why I mentioned -- didn't want you to not be prepared and then freak out because they are very intimidating looking and scary looking at first. Until you realize they are the good guys lol. They come in with assault rifles like balls to the wall so just to prepare you a little.
