Acadia vs Santa Fe?
My husband and I are debating between these two cars. It's just down to these two, we've done tons of looking into it and these are the final options. If you have or had one of these and would recommend it can you let me know? And if you had one of these and didn't like it for some reason that would be good to know too! Thanks!

I currently lease a Santa Fe and have had an Acadia as a rental car. I liked the Acadia a lot but felt it was too big, slightly too "truckish" for me. I only have 1 DD and live in Queens so it's not like I need a huge car.
I love the Santa Fe. It's a good size and has more luxury features than the Acadia. I don't know for a fact, but I would imagine the Santa Fe is much better on gas as well.

These are not the same size cars. I love my Santa Fe Sport. Just finished by first of 3 year lease. We looked at the Acadia some time ago coming at of a Ford Edge. Edge/Acadia or similar size trucks. If you have kids, i highly recommend putting car seats in both with kids for test drive so you know exactly what your getting into.
Back to the question, we left bigger SUV (truckish) to go to small SUV for better gas and more like a car handle. Size was not important to us.

We have the Santa Fe with the 3rd row seating and the captains chairs in the middle. I love it. Its a great car with lots of room. I have 3 kids and it fits all of us perfectly with room to add more.

Acadia is VERY big. I didn't care for the size. I don't require third row so I ended up going Jeep Grand Cherokee. If I needed third row maybe Acadia, but it's huge.
Also off-topic, if you don't require third row and aren't set on an SUV look at the Hyundai Sonata. I rented one when I was down in FL for Thanksgiving. I didn't realize how big it was until I put my infant car seat in it. No need to have to push the passenger seat up even a little bit with the car seat behind.

We have friends with both of these cars and they have nothing but good things to say about either.
Since they are two different cars - the main question is how much space do you need/how big of a car do you want?

That IS the question, and DH and I disagree haha.
We DO need a third row and we 10000% want an SUV, though thank you for the other suggestions.
We actually decided to scratch the Santa Fe off the list and are debating between the Highlander and Acadia now. Same discussion mostly (size) but I tend to like the Highlander better than the Santa Fe so it may be our compromise (I want the Acadia/bigger car, DH thinks we don't need something quite that big yet.)

The Sante Fe and the highlander are both smaller than the acadia so it may not be that easy to compare.
I was looking into the acadia, but opted for the traverse (they are very comparable) and so far I am very happy with my decision.
For us, it made sense to get a bigger car because we purchased it and hope to have it for 10 years (as we have had my previous SUV for 10+ years) - we didnt want to "outgrow" it and be forced to buy something else

I'll personally never get another Toyota after the hell we've been through with them.
Coworker had a lot of issues with her GMC (not the Acadia though). But if it's a lease, I'd go that route.

I know you said you scratched the Santa fe but I have the new one and absolutely love it! Best ride I've ever had. I've had Jeeps then Honda pilot so I knew I liked the third row. I went with the bench seat over the captain chairs just because they remind me of a minivan. The Santa fe had so many awesome features and a great price.

Acadia vs Santa Fe?
I had an Acadia for about 5 years and loved it. It was a great car. I have 3 kids so I needed the space but I never felt it was overwhelming in any way. My mom has the Santa Fe and it is too small for me. But obviously everyones needs are different.

I have a Santa Fe and love it... If you need larger though, the Acadia is a great choice. My mother in law just got one and is in love with it!
