Re: Birthday Party-- Which option would you choose?

Hmmm.............

How close are you with the parents of your DD's friend? 30 min is kind of far for a party. However, I'd MUCH rather do that than go to a party on the 26th. I think everyone is so pooped out the day after Xmas so the thought of sitting at a bday party is not all that appealing. I know we ALWAYS stay in on the 26th and hang out in pj's all day, let the kids play with their toys while we munch on leftovers and cookies. It's our decompress and relax day.

So basically...........stick with Option A. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Birthday Party-- Which option would you choose?

How old is your dd? Depending on age she may not care or know the difference of 10 days after her bday, which I don't think is a big deal
I would prob do option b and do it later in the day so people can wake up lTe and relax in the morning
Personally I wouldn't go to a 930 party even 10 min from my house way too early for me on the weekend

Birthday Party-- Which option would you choose?

Option B. I would be more willing to go to a party the day or two after Christmas than I would be trying to get my kids up and ready and out of the house by 9 AM on a weekend morning.

I don't think either option is good, honestly. A party 30 minutes away at such an early hour would not be good for a lot of guests, and a lot of guests will not attend so close to the holidays, lots of people travel, etc.

I kinda agree. 930 way to early for a 30 minute ride.

Both would be ok with me but I would chose B. Even if some people are away over the holidays a lot of people are home and looking for something to do.

Re: Birthday Party-- Which option would you choose?

I think a lot of people would be out of town or have family in town for Dec 26. I personally would not throw a party during a school break.

Re: Birthday Party-- Which option would you choose?

Option B. 30 minute drive, for me, is too far for a kid's birthday party from school especially early in the morning.

Good luck with your decision!

Re: Birthday Party-- Which option would you choose?

B if you could get the 27th. A if only the 26 is available.

While I'm a big fan of early parties, having to get out the door before 9 on a weekend is tough!

Re: Birthday Party-- Which option would you choose?

I would much prefer a party after Christmas than right before Christmas. There is always SO much to do right before the holidays verses the 27th - it might be nice to get the kids out of the house. Also, my kids are little so 9:30AM is definitely not too early for us - even on a Sunday. I would expect older kids, this wouldn't be the case.

I would go with B, only because it's closer. I see nothing wrong with a party at 9:30- everyone has the rest of the day to do whatever they please.

To those who say both options are bad- what would the alternative be? OP can't change her dd's birthday!

Birthday Party-- Which option would you choose?

I would actually prefer a little bit later on the day in the 27th, but I also wouldn't think twice about a 30 minute drive to go to a party at 930
