Wedding Gift Question-What's the going rate?
in this situation I would give 200. We typically give 250 these days for friends and about 300/350 for very close friends/family.

$300 is what we give to friends/co workers etc. I would honestly only go to a wedding for someone we are fairly close to, that might sound mean but at this point in my life I wouldn't waste time or money on an acquaintance wedding and that is the only type I would give less than $300

I would probably give $200. The vast majority of gifts I received at my wedding were $125-150 so I think it's also fine if you wanted to give $150. I don't take venue into consideration.
