Birthday Spinoff - How do you celebrate your birthday?
Just wondering what every one does....???
As I mentioned in a different post, I am such a birthday grinch. Unless you are a child or it's a milestone birthday, I could really care less about going to your party.
I celebrate with just my DH. We go to dinner. I never make it a to do with friends. If they ask, I'll extend an invite to join us to be nice but that is as far as I go.

Maybe celebrate with immediate family with a cake the weekend before or after

I usually go to AC and than go out with my parents and DH kids for my bday.
regards to friends I don't plan anything sometimes they plan something sometimes the don't.
my bday is at the end of the summer so my mom has hosted bbq to celebrate the end of summer and my bday in the past (not a fan when she includes my bday in it makes me feel people think they should get me something and they shouldn't)

I don't make a big deal of my birthday. maybe dinner on the weekend with DH if we can but that's basically it. Although this year my bil and his fiancée booked their wedding on my birthday so that's how I'll be spending my bday this year I guess lol

Birthday Spinoff - How do you celebrate your birthday?
I don't make a big deal out of mine or DH's birthday. If it's not a milestone birthday I don't see why it should be a huge deal if you're an adult. That's just me though.

I either have party at my house or a quiet dinner with my bf. For my 30th I had it at my bf's moms house because she has a pool. I gave her a gift as a token of my appreciation for opening her home to my friends and I. I personally wouldnt have a huge dinner out and expect other people to pay. If I invite, Im paying.

DH and I go out to dinner for together for our bdays without the kids. If our bday doesn't fall on a weekend I'll make him a special dinner and a cake and then we'll go out the following weekend. We don't make a big deal out of bdays, it's just an excuse to have a date night!

Dinner with DH, cake at my moms. Unless it's a major milestone. Or when I was in my early 20's.

For milestones we've thrown parties, but anything else it's usually dinner with the family, which includes my parents, DH's parents and usually my sister, BIL and their kids. We like to get together a lot anyway so for the month of someone's birthday we'll all go out to eat to celebrate. WE all live pretty close to each other.
Sometimes DH and I go out for a date night too.
I don't see anything wrong with an adult wanting to have a celebration. To me it's not about the gifts, but we love getting together with friends and family and having a good time. Any excuse for good food, good company, good drinks and a night out is fun.
I also do a girl's night once in a while too so again if it's around one of our birthdays when we get together we'll give cards and toast to the birthday girl.

We usually go out to dinner alone and then out for drinks. I never invite people out to dinner, but if they want yo join us for drinks after, then that's an open invitation.

I have a summer birthday so I usually just tell people to come and hang in the yard and swim. We'll either grill or order pizza.

Dinner out with DH, cake with the family. I think we missed DH's bday this year...oh well! He has a big milestone bday coming up next year so am planning a nice big surprise outing. For my 40th we invited a few of my friends out for dinner but we picked up the tab.

Birthday Spinoff - How do you celebrate your birthday?
Usually out to dinner or invite my brother, SIL and kids over to celebrate. But, for a big milestone b'day, DH and I went to Iceland! It was amazing!
This year, Billy Joel is playing at MSG on DH's b'day,and I know he wants to go, so I got him tix - he will be so excited!

Birthday Spinoff - How do you celebrate your birthday?
Dinner with DH and my close girlfriends and I take each other out for dinner and drinks for birthdays. Sometimes cake at my parents. I had a milestone birthday this year and still didn't want anything, though I got extra good gifts!
I kinda hate birthdays, tbh.

My friends and I all have birthdays within 3 months of each other. We used to all go out for each and it was just a lot. Now we try and go out in the middle of all of the birthdays and celebrate at the same time. It was becoming crazy. For my actual birthday we usually order in food with my family and have cake.

I really do nothing for my birthday, maybe we go out to dinner. My nephew is born on the 18th, my husband the same day, I'm 4 days later and then my BIL is the day after mine. Now it's all about my nephew and I don't even think they remember mine lol. (except DD and DH of course).

Same here.. DD's bday the day after, so its all about her bday party, and her cake and little friends. We do a dinner, the weekend following our birthdays and I get an honorary mention..
