My neighbors never took their tree down from last year! It's been sitting in the front window fully decorated (I can see candy canes and tinsel on it from the front yard) but it's never lit. DH always told me it was up but I thought he was mistaken until we were all standing on their front lawn talking and it caught my eye...I couldn't stop staring at it !
This, across the street from mom's house! Yep, it's a white glittery tree with the most gaudy decorations... Garland and big huge ornaments in the bay window too! Up all year long. DH just shakes his head....

BTW NervousNell.............I *might* have you beat!!! There was someone my DH use to work with and she kept a "Xmas room" in her house ALL YEAR LONG!!! The room was fully decked out for Xmas with a fully decorated tree...............365 days a year!! She told him that she loved Xmas SO much she wanted to be able to enjoy it year round whenever she wanted.
I don't seem so crazy now, do I??!! I AT LEAST wait until the end of November.

You live in Holbrook right? Any chance you are in the colony? Because that sounds like it could be dh's nutty god mothers house!!! She hates Halloween so she puts up her Xmas tree now and yes, it is up for months!!!!

DH's aunt is a snowbird. They actually just put up their tree because they're leaving for Florida and won't be back until the holidays.

I find this almost depressing. Like when Xmas is over, it's OVER until next Xmas! It has no meaning if it's left up all year round!

but, perhaps they are celebrating Xmas early because someone is sick and wont make to the holiday??

I know a few people who leave their tree up year round. To each their own.
Someone on my moms street has a huge christmas room. She used to have a santa come in and have kids take pictures with him in her house. it was better than the mall and we always enjoyed it.
