Re: 1st birthday gift
I never got why people get upset over how much a gift is
Some Give more some less
I've gotten for My kids as b day presents a gift each (twins) and sometimes a 20 gift for both
Each is fine. I said 50 Bc that's what we do. And for my bffs we have more. The insanity!!

1st birthday gift
I give what I can afford. I used to be able to give more when I had a better paying job and no kids. Now I have to give less. It's not a contest on who gives the most or best gift, and each and any gift should be appreciated.
And what is the "norm" for some is not for others.

Re: 1st birthday gift
$30 is fine.
I've thrown 2 birthday parties in the past 3 years at halls for my kids (I love throwing big first birthday parties!). As the mom, I don't expect/care/want big gifts or a huge amount of money for the kids. (I actually considered writing no gifts on my daughter's invite because we have WAYYY too many toys at this point). Any gift is appreciated.
I personally do $50 for family and $25 for friends.
