Catering Near FP, NHP, GC, etc. + Amount of Food
Looking for recommendations to get catering for a party for about 50-60 people near Floral Park, New Hyde Park, Garden City area. What recommendations do you all have? Need some yummy options!
Also, for a party of 60 people (majority of it being adults), how many trays of things would you recommend? First time ordering food instead of making it so not sure what's normally needed.

Uncle Bacala's in garden city park. So good!
Gigi's in new hyde park- doesn't look like anything more than a pizzeria from outside but we recently had lunch catered from here at a work thing & everything was yummy. Loved their penne alla vodka & chicken marsala & I don't even like mushrooms.

King Umberto's in Elmont Meachem Deli in Elmont Iavarone Bros. in Lake Success Trattoria Lucia in Bellerose
As far as what to order, I'd probably do a tray each of a chicken, meat, pasta and a vegetable dish. Plus salad/rolls. You could also do a hero if you wanted, that's usually a big hit with our family/friends.

Catering Near FP, NHP, GC, etc. + Amount of Food
Umberto's in NHP or Village Pizza in Floral Park
As for how much, you would have to look at what each tray suggests. It depends on how many choices you want to have. If you call up for pricing you can get a suggestions then re post and see what people have to say.
Also, will you be doing lunch or dinner? Apps? Hero's? Pasta? Salad?

I didn't even think about Village Pizza! Right now, Capo's seems to have the best value and I know their food is good.
It will be a early dinner, late lunch type of thing. For the amount of people, I was thinking of:
Appetizers - chips, dips, etc. (1) Full tray of some kind of pasta (1) Full tray of salad (I'll be making this) (1) Full tray of some kind of vegetable thing (1) Ful tray of a chicken
Do I need more than 4 trays of food - 60 people, maybe 5-10 of those are kids.

A- I Changed the list around for you. I added some stuff and made the pasta into baked ziti and 1/2 trays so you can only put 2 out. If they go, put out one more. And if that doesn't completely go, you can pout the other 1/2 tray into freezer for another day!~
Appetizers - chips, dips, etc.
(4) 1/2 tray of some kind of pasta (Baked Ziti) (1) Full tray of salad (I'll be making this) (1) Full tray of some kind of vegetable thing (1) Full tray of a chicken (1) full tray of Eggplant Parm (1) 1/2 Tray Chicken Fingers (1) 1/2 Tray French Fries

I agree with Phyillis...but might put out 1 full tray of baked ziti to begin with and then replenish with 1/2 trays. I feel like if only a half tray was out as a guest i might take less bc i would be afraid everyone behind me on line wouldnt get the food.

I just posted something similar and have less people, but the general suggestion was about 6.5 trays and 2 six foot heroes for about 58 people, 20 of whom are kids under 14
