Sunglasses
So, I need to get new sunglasses. I dropped the ones I was using while working outside and they broke. I'm so bad with that. I usually just get cheapo glasses at like CVS or something, but I kind of want to treat myself to a good pair. I know they can be pricey, but anyone have any experience with certain brands, or retailers good or bad? I figured I would hit a sunglasses hut or maybe purchase a pair online...not sure what to do...Where do you guys go? How much would you spend??

I would look at RayBans, Maui Jim and Oakley. They aren't cheap (I think in the $150-$200 range to start), but they're nice. Most Macy's have a Sunglass Hut in the store and have some brands (usually not the ones I mentioned) that you can find on sale and/or use a coupon.

Re: Sunglasses
Go to Sunglass Hut They have a ton of brands in all price ranges- and all are good quality/name brands. Go in person and try a few on. The salespeople there are helpful.
I am also a hardcore cheapie sunglass fan, but once you get a good pair, the difference is night and day. I mean the weight of them alone....

I always get sunglasses from Loft. They are usually 2 pairs for $32 and will last me around 2 years (some longer).

Re: Sunglasses
It depends on how careful you are with your sunglasses. I invest a lot of money in my own sunglasses, most run me 350-$500, most people would say thats insane, but i am a fanatic with my glasses, i don't wear them on my head ever because that stretches them out, i dont clip them onto my shirt, because when you bend down they can fall. When i go into a store they go immediately in the case. I have never broke, scratched, dropped or lost a pair, i wear them on the boat, jetski, beach, in the ocean so its not like i baby them and don't use them, i am just super careful.

I also find that when you get yourself a nicer, more expensive pair, you tend to automaticaly be more careful with it. I never put them on my head or on my shirt like mentioned above anymore. I was really careless with my cheapies, Not so much with my nicer ones.

Re: Sunglasses
I used to buy mine at TJ but last year DH persuaded me to buy a polarized pair of maui jims and i LOVED them...however I lost them last week so now I am wearing a $20 pair of calvin kleins from TJ and I hate them....hoping I find the others but if not I will spring another $200 for another pair of maui jims- very hard to go back once you have had good quality sunglasses.

I think I decided on Maui Jim, I like the look. I have been looking online and will make time to go and try a few pair on before buying. I did however find a couple of visa gift cards for $100 each!!! I was completely surprised and had forgotten about them, so this won't hurt so much... Ha ha!! I love finds like this!!!

Re: Sunglasses
I recently splurged and got a pair with polarized lenses (they're also prescription, but that's beside the point) and they're great. Really help with the light AND the glare. Mine are Guess.

Re: Sunglasses
I swear by my Maui Jims. I will never own another brand of sunglasses again. I still have my original pair of MJ's purchased in 2007. I've since added another couple to my collection, but the originals are still my favorite.
I've even sent them back to MJ twice to have chips/scratches in the lenses replaced. They have a great repair policy.
DH was an Oakley or Ray Ban fan and after I lent him my sunglasses because he forgot his and we were in the car and he was driving into the sun, he is a Maui Jim convert.
It's not just that the lenses are polarized - they are AMAZING!!!!!
