Spinoff How do you NOT curse
so i say the F word alot..not in a mean way towards pple but i use it to get my point across.. like thats f*cking great or i was so f*cking pi$$ed...so i noticed i say the F word alot especially b/c my boyfriend pointed it out..so i try my best not too..and i wont say it for weeks and then the 1 time i do say the F word--he says all i do is curse...
dammit i havent said a f*cking curse in weeks now u just made me wanna say it more cause u didnt notice when i WASNT SAYING IT!!!!!

In work, If I curse I will loose my job! Thats enough insentive!! You are allowed the occasional mess up but if an admin heres you or the students/parents complain you are in deep!!

I curse a bit too but only when alone or in certain company. NEVER do I curse at work (I am a teacher) and I dont think very highly of people who curse in front of children. Though once on of my students accidentally stepped on my foot when I was in sandals and i let out a yelp and a "f u..." without finishing the word. It took everything I had not to say it!

I used to have a mouth like a truck driver, but when I met DH he NEVER curses, and somehow just by being with him, I find myself never cursing anymore. Once in a while I'll slip.

I curse too much too. I'm a teacher and never curse at school but I find myself slipping at home all the time. The problem is my 3 year old DS has repeated me many times. I tell him "That's a bad word and you should never say that, it's bad. Mommy was bad to say that!" Then I slap myself on the wrist. Well he know calls me on it everytime. Now I hear "Mommy that's a bad word!!" My family loves it when he catches me saying crap on the phone with them and he busts me!

Me too.
I have several students that bring the "Director's Track" out in me.
For example, if a kid is a real skootch, hasn't done a blessed thing, is failing, doesn't care, rude and you basically just want to throw them out the window but it won't do any harm because I teach on the first floor (I teach high school)... I will say something very polite and smile but in my head I'm saying....
@#$%@#$%@#$%@#$%@#@$%No good, lying @#$% son of a @#$%.
That last part is the director's track that only I can hear in my head. Heck, if there's another teacher in the room they could sense it I just have those days sometimes... usually on a full moon.

I curse way too much. Since I have kids that will repeat what they've heard (crap! there goes your train mom!), I've been trying to edit myself. Doesn't always work.
Lately I've been using sound effects and actually bleep myself, eg. "You are a bleepity bleep". I am curious as to what the teachers at daycare think when they hear my kids bleeping.

I'm really bad with this.. I curse a lot but DH HATES it (he really rarely curses - ever - its his nice midwestern upbringing I think, he's not a NYer like me  )
Now he really gets on my case when I curse because "the baby can hear me" (umm I'm 29 wks pregnant, and sure the baby can hear me but do you really think he knows what mutherf*cker means just yet?? )
Umm.. I guess I am not helping with this question am I? I will say that yes I TRY to be more conscientious about not swearing, but I still really do cuss a whole lot

I can turn my cursing on and off like that (snaps fingers). I was a teacher for many years...never cursed in front of the kids. In the TEacher's lunchroom however....curse city.
NEVER curse in front of my sons...I spell EVERYTHING. As soon as they go to bed....cursin' machine.
Never curse infront of certain family members (grandma, mom). With some friends...that's all I do.
I'm always aware of my audience and their sensitivities. Don't wanna offend.

I curse ALL the time, it got worse ever since I met my DH
We both sound like truck drivers, although I have been trying really hard NOT to curse but sometimes it just slips right out without me even realizing

I've gotten so bad that my mother called me to discuss it with me.
I don't know how to stop. Maybe if they make a pill for it I'll be able to finally 'talk like a lady' (my mom is seriously concerned about it).

Im from LI and it just happens to flow out of my mouth, loud too.
Sometimes I am really unaware of it until someone points it out.

I don't curse in front of my parents and I try not to curse at work. I'll use "light" curses at work b/c it's hard not to. But the "f" word I'll reserve for when I'm really mad, and I'm usually saying it under my breath.
If I'm angry and arguing with DH and I curse, then he knows I'm super p!ssed b/c it's like taking it to the next level. But thankfully that's not that often.

I'm also surprised that so many DH's care.
I think to stop ( if you really want to) , you have to think about what you mean when you are saying it & how else you could say it.
My mother told me people who curse as part of their everyday speech do it because they do not have the vocabulary to express themselves better. Keeping that in mind helps.
