To be honest with you imagine what most non celebrity people look like in bikinis at 40?? As an avid beach goer I can tell you they don't look much better. The big difference is she is VERY skinny and because she is a celebrity people think she should be *perfect*.

Listen, I don't have a perfect body by any stretch of the imagination and I don't look like i did when I was 21 either, but I am 41 and I wear a bikini and I can assure you I don't look like this.
Thin or not, she is horribly sagging. And not the kind of sagging or loss of firmness I notice in my 40s, Sagging like you'd see on a woman in her 60s. In fact my mom is in her 60s and even she doesn't look like this.
Something is up.

I agree with NervousNell. This isn't normal sagging for a 40 year old. I don't expect her to look perfect just because she's a celebrity. But when you see a 39 year old who LITERALLY has the body of a 70 year old there's something going on there. Again, I don't know if it's botched surgery, drugs, eating disorder, or just plain photoshopped...but something is off.

I'm 40. My skin looks NOTHING like this. NOT at all!! My 86 yr old Grandma looks better than she does for goodness sake. She looks like a worn out, saggy bag of bones. That is NOT 40. That is just extremely unfortunate. She messed up her own body, this is self induced.............this isn't aging.

look, i'm not wearing a bikini because i don't like my stomach, NOT because i'm over 40. That's the biggest load of crap.
Tara Reid looks awful for a whole boatload of reasons, the LEAST of which is that she's 39. There are plenty of 'non celebrity' 39, 49, 59 and 69 year olds on the beach who look healthy and normal.

I agree with this comment, bc she is a celebrity we will pick her apart more than the average person. Many (im not saying all) people on the beach do not look great or good in their bathing suites and many do not wear age or body appropriate styles.
if this is a truly real photo, no she does not look even near good or well.

That makes me so sad!! I'm the same age as her and my skin is NO WHERE near that sagging. In fact, it's not sagging at all! Anywhere....
Something is definitely wrong...and if she's flaunting her body like that, I doubt she recognizes there's a problem at all.

ITA and I am OVER 40 and have worn a bikini after 2 kids AFTER 40.
I am not sure why people have an age in mind for wearing a bikini. If you exercise, eat healthy and feel comfortable than you should go for it.
Looking like that? NO WAY.

This is so sad. I hate to judge people based on their weight, but it looks like she has anorexia. She is emaciated. Another symptom of anorexia is loss of skin elasticity. Her skin is just not holding onto her body right, it is all saggy.

So now 40 is old????? Seriously I'm as non celebrity as they come and I definitely don't look like that in my suit. Tara Reid did horrible things to her body and has clearly never recovered. It's not her age, it's what she did to herself

 She is ethiopian emaciated. That's why her skin is like that (coupled with botched lipo).

I'm totally confused by your comment. What does age have to do with it? We expect perfection bc she is a celebrity? What? Are we looking at the same picture? She looks downright ill. Her skin is barely hanging on to her bones. This is nowhere near normal for her age. She has done some horrendous damage to her body. This is very very sad.

Yes this was my point. I agree something is clearly off with her and I am sure it has to do with years of hard living, bad surgeries, eat disorders, etc... very sad

at one point she was heavier. and she fluctuates with weight loss so I can see that her body and skin has taken its toll from that.
She looks emaciated and if someone like me lost 30lbs..Im sure my skin would be doing the same.
I had twins and my belly skin hangs.
