People coming onto my property when I'm not home
One of my neighbors informed me that two women are coming onto my property everyday when I'm not home and picking berries off the two trees on my front lawn. This neighbor told me that they sometimes sit on my lawn and chow down. Additionally, she told me on Friday that they were removing branches from the trees (they are smallish dogwoods).
The neighbor did tell me where these ladies live. Do I go over and confront them? Put a "no trespassing" sign on my lawn?
I swear you can't make this stuff up.

I would put a no trespassing sign up
but if they were actually damaging my trees, I'd say that someone reported that they were on my yard & ask why they were removing my branches.

OMG WTH is wrong with people!
I would want to go over and let them know it's come to my attention what they were doing. Although I'm sure they would just deny it all. But I would probably still do it so they know they were seen. And I would definitely put up No Trespassing signs.

See I am nuts and I'd want to catch them in the act myself and embarrass them. Like hide my car up the block or something to make it look like nobody is home and hide in the house waiting. But I'm a little nutty!

How old are these "women"?? This is absurd. And then to sit down on your lawn? Is there something wrong with them? That is not normal behavior.

Lol I actually remember seeing two women do this before a long time ago! I remember thinking how strange it was that they were randomly eating berries off someone's property lol. It was either Oceanside or Bayside, imagine its the same two ladies? Well that's crazy and I actually would go confront them.

That's the first thing I thought too - that would be the best way to address it! If you go to their house they will probably just deny it.

I actually did this to a neighbor that was letting her dogs poop on my lawn. One day she was literately standing on my stoop on her cell phone while her dogs pooped.
I told her it was trespassing and if I caught her again I'd have her arrested and if I saw her on anyone else's lawn I would call the police.
She didn't come on mine but did it top the neighbors until they scooped the poop and left it on her door step with a note. Then it stopped completely.

LOL there is woman that lives around our area that does this. We didn't know who was leaving dog poop on our lawn until one day our neighbor across the street caught her and yelled at her. She acted like she did nothing wrong. She hasn't come back lately but DH said that he wants to find out where she lives and put the poop on her front steps.

Love this.
I would put up the no trespassing sign and put out fake cameras, they're only $14 on amazon and even have a red light at night.

A picture is worth a thousand words ... Have your neighbor snap a picture whenever she sees the nutty ladies on your property and especially that they are damaging it by removing the berries and the branches. They are also stealing your property.
You'll have more of a case if you want to follow up with the police.

Just to add - technically, even if they are trespassing, if they get injured on your property you can be liable. So if they eat the berries and then get sick and have to go to the hospital or whatever, they can sue you for med bills. So, you should definitely try and get them to stop.

Re: People coming onto my property when I'm not home
I'm a confrontational person, so I would march right over to where they live and call them out on their shit. I wouldn't even say that someone told me. I would say that I saw it on my (non-existant, but WTF do they know) security camera.
The fcking balls that people have is unreal. UNREAL.

My neighbor has a bright yellow sign that says "Smile, you're on camera". I would think something like that would deter them!

This is what I'm worried about. I'm going to have to go over to their house tonight and also see if my neighbor has any pictures. Ugh!!!

"Hi. I just wanted to warn you that we had to spray some really horrible pesticide on my lawn. We have some funky disease on the berries & our landscaper warned us that it could spread throughout the neighborhood."

Re: People coming onto my property when I'm not home
We have two cherry trees in our front yard, and we happened to be out of town when the cherries were ripe and ready to eat this year. When we returned home, one of our cherry trees was COMPLETELY picked over. Not ONE cherry left on it. The other tree still had all it's cherries on it (as far as we could tell).
It's a mystery still, to this day, what happened to those cherries. There's no way an animal ate every single one of the cherries...plus there would be pits and stuff like that on the ground around the tree. That only leaves one other explanation..... Some a$$hole came on our property and picked it over while we were gone. I'm talking POUNDS of cherries.
I was SO pissed.
I know it was none of our immediate neighbors because we're friends with all of them. We talked to them, and no one saw anything.
All this to say, if it were me, and I knew who the people were that were stealing from me (because that's exactly what they're doing--they're stealing!!!), then you bet your a$$ I'd be confronting them. I'd probably do like NervousNell said and catch them in the act. But I'm also a bit crazy. LOL

How about a beware of dog sign and have dog toys on the lawn? And a motion sensor dog barking sound maker?
