Comfort nursing

How long do you let your DC comfort nurse? I know some people will say wait until he pulls off, but if I did that I am pretty confident I'd be nursing almost the entire day.

Comfort nursing

DD was like this. She pretty much never pulled off herself until she got to the distracted stage. I usually just gently tried to pull the boob out and if she let me, I knew she was done and if she held on I let her go a little longer.

After about 3 months when I was confident in my supply I would pull her off. I only nurse from one side and it was very sore.

DD has always been a big comfort nurser, and she will be 1 this month. When she fell asleep, I will pull her off if she didn't pull off on her own.

This is what I did with DS. I'm pretty sure he was attached to me 20 hours a day those first couple of months

This - and at 11 weeks I'm still doing this
But his bedtime nursing session I try to wait for him to pull off bc I know he gives me a 9 hour stretch so I want him to be full

Okay - that is more or less what I am doing as well. DS, however, rarely pulls off for his night feed... His sleeping WAS amazing from week 7-13 - now it is AWFUL (week 14-15). Tonight I am feeding him a pumped bottle to see if that will hold him over. I go back to work in 3 weeks and I am hoping he gets back into a better routine.
