PSA- what's really in that squeeze pouch FB post

Did anyone see the FB post on the spoiled gogo fruit pouch that put a kid in the Hospital.? There was pictures of what was in the other pouches he didn't eat from the rest of the box. All pouches expired in 2015 but they were all bad.

Now I don't know if I can give this to my DD anymore. I will try to post the link or picture..

No pic but that's fine with me lol.

I have never given the pouches. They gross me out. The thought of eating them so I never gave them. I can't see how they stay good. And then these few stories I just can't.

And a Preschool around me had to ask parents to stop sending them and start sending in reg applesauce,as example, b/c the kids didn't know how to use a spoon properly lol.

I never used them so I haven't really thought about it. But I can see how that could happen since you can't actually see the food. So gross, that poor kid.

UGH !! Come on !! ?? My kids love the GoGo Squeeze apple sauce ..........it's the easiest snack ever !

Unless this has happened to someone I specifically know, I usually don't believe these claims. Most of them are proven to be fabricated.

I give my baby the pouches but I squeeze it onto a spoon so I could see what's inside. I did hear from someone, that they heard from someone else about half a bad pouch. but is that real? still I put it on the spoon so I can see it.

If you look on the fda recall list there are always packaged foods recalled bc they were improperly sealed and could spoil. Obviously some are going to go unnoticed. You can always squeeze some out or taste it before giving to your kid. I don't worry at 2 bc I know DD would immediately spit out something that didn't taste good. You can also get reuseable pouches that you can fill yourself. I have the resqueeze ones and they're great but you can't just leave them in the diaper bag to have anytime.

Anytime i use the pouch I squeeze it out first to see it then i taste it. If it tastes good I give it to my kids.

Ugh, I always give DD the sprout or ella's vegetable pouches. She's 3.5 and thinks they're a special treat. Some days, it's the only way she gets greens down!

We immediately contacted the consumer to find out where and when this product was purchased and began carefully looking into the situation. As part of our investigation, we tested and reviewed other samples manufactured at the same facility shortly before, during, and after the same time as the product that was reported to us. All tested products passed our stringent quality control standards.

Also as part of our research into this matter, we visited the store where the product was purchased, and other stores in the vicinity, and ran tests on products available on their shelves. The results in each case confirmed that there was no presence of any foreign material, including mold, in the tested products.

Although this kind of reported incident is rare, because GoGo squeeZ fruit pouches are all natural and preservative-free, in instances where the pouch has become damaged, where a small hole or leak in the pouch has occurred, or where the product has otherwise been exposed to air for a prolonged period of time, it is possible for common food mold to develop. This type of common food mold is similar to what can be experienced with bread or fruit that has been overly exposed to air.

At GoGo squeeZ, nothing is more important to us than the quality and safety of our products and the satisfaction of our consumers, which our significant manufacturing and quality control protocols help ensure. We are grateful for your comments and suggestions.

We have also received a number of complaints about our deletion of a Facebook post about this incident. The deletion was a mistake. Still, we have taken steps to change our Facebook protocols to ensure this does not happen again. We sincerely apologize to our Facebook community.
