Peope who have been through EI process... question!!!
So I had my DS evaluated for physical therapy. Three days after the evaluation was done, the company who performed the eval called and told me verbally that DS qualified in one area and everything else was average. They said I would receive an emailed report to show me how he scored.
Unfortunately my case worker at the dept of health was going on vacation for 2 weeks during this process (she is away now) and scheduled me the very last day it was legal to go over his need for services. That appt is in another week and a half (a full month after the eval was done!) I tried to call and change this appt but never heard back to my voicemails.
It has been 2.5 weeks since the eval was done. Should I have received the results yet? Who do they come from, the state or the place that evaluated him? When I called the place that evaluated him I was told they didnt have the results and they were being written up by the state.

I got my report a little bit over a week after the evaluation- it came from the agency that evaluated him. I did have to call though after a week passed and I didn't hear anything.

Do you think the date of your follow up appt with the dept of health affected how fast you received the report? i feel like an annoying harassing mother by calling the eval place again to ask... :(

Yes, she is the one that made my appt for the last possible date allowed, bc she is on vaca for two weeks! I left a voicemail with her the moment I found out he qualified (two weeks ago) and got no call back. So if I try to call her again now, she wont be there bc she is on vaca. Should i be going over her head to find out?

You called the dept of health directly or the people who administered the test?

the agency that sent the evaluators, not the dept of health. i ended up talking to the director of the agency.

I don't know if it's a difference between counties or something but my service coordinator wasn't at our first IFSP meeting. In fact, it was at that meeting that I was assigned a coordinator. She went on to do nothing for me over the next year and was completely useless but that's another story. At our meeting it was only the county person and the special ed teacher that did part of the evaluation. I did get the report in the mail a week or two after the evaluation which came directly from the agency but they had already told me she would qualify.

Legally I think they only need to have the report to you by 1 week prior to your meeting. I know it's frustrating. The people who did the evaluations write the reports. Sometimes they have other cases to take care of first so there is a lag with the reports.

I didn't read the responses so I am not sure if this has been answered. I work in EI and am involved with both the evaluation piece and I am a Service Coordinator. The Agency is responsible for sending you the evaluation. With that said, they do need to notify the EIOD prior to sending the results to you. The results must be sent to you prior to the IFSP meeting. Each EIOD has a supervisor who you can call. I have a list, If you still haven't heard back and need that number please FM me and I will tell you who to call. The PPL at your initial IFSP will be the EIOD at the County who determine the frequency of your services and someone from the evaluation team to go over all of your evaluations. Let me know if you have any other questions :)

The agency sends it. I think they use the date of the meeting to help them prioritize when to get the report to you. You should get it before the meeting, but they probably wouldn't rush it if they know your mtg is still nearly a month away.

Our meeting was a month from eval too. The evaluator probably has scores but has to type up a report. They usually have a month to do it. That's why they schedule a month out.
