Mini 5am morning terror

I need advice or I am going to lose my mind. My dd1 is a middle of the night waker and an early riser doesn't matter how early or late I put her to bed she still gets up in the 5am hour screaming at the top of her lungs to get out of her crib. She's 2 and hasn't climbed out but attempts to. Dd2 is a dream 4mo old and she sleeps through the night. So when the crankshaft awakes I run to her not to wake the little one up. Then she wants to go sit downstairs and watch TV or eat. Still screaming. How do I break her of this before my hubby and I lose our minds d from a early cranky 2yr old?

Not much experience, but my DD wakes much earlier than normal when she's hungry from not eating as much as usual the night before. Maybe your DD needs a snack or milk before bed.

I can try to see if she will take a snack before bed. But she's a good eater. I really hope someone has some advice

Sounds like maybe she's overtired and that's why she's waking early and crabby. What do you do when she wakes at night? I would try to tackle the night waking bc maybe if she sleeps more soundly and is more rested she'll be more likely to sleep in better. That's been my experience with DD. If she gets overtired she's more likely to wake during the night and/or wake earlier in the morning. Do you have a sound machine, does she have a lovey, is she too hot or cold?

Is she still taking naps? Maybe time to cut them out or cut them shorter?

She does take naps in school about 2hrs and at home about the same. I don't know how well she sleeps there though with the other kids around. Tonite I gave her some god before bed so I will see how it goes tonight.

We invested in the "OK to wake Owl" and it was a lifesaver. We set it for 6 and then gradually increased it to 7. DD knew that when the owl turned green it was OK to get up. We had to do a reward system for it but eventually it clicked.

OK to Wake

We got something like that and she knows it should be green to wake but she doesn't follow maybe I should set the alarm. And see if that works
