which is your fav Value resort at Disney?
Looking into going back to Disney this Sept. Last time we went we stayed at the Contemporary..it was awesome but this time thinking of staying at one of the Value resorts. DH is thinking of staying at Art of Animations. For those that stayed, what did you think? Also, we will be spending most of our time at MK.
TIA

I hear great things about Art of Animation. We really liked Pop Century when we stayed there.

We have stayed at them all, and just stayed 3 nights at Art of Animation in the value rooms which are in the Little Mermaid section. The resort is HUGE, the bus lines are HUGE, and it's a LONGGG walk to the main building. The theming is adorable, didn't care for the food court (no Mickey waffles, no ice cream only gelato, no taco salads, etc. that they have at the other values).
I prefer Pop out of them all. Second would be All Star Sports since it's first on the bus stop line of the All Stars and it's cheapeast of the values. We are not sports fans at all, not even slightly, but my kids liked the theming.
All Star Movies was the worst. We had awful experiences there with the buses, and the a/c in both of our rooms (family was in another one).

You can walk over the bridge from Pop to Art of Animation to check out the theming.

Just another note, if you haven't stayed at a value, only deluxe, you will be surprised at the lack of amenities. I hadn't realized just how crappy they are until we went from a deluxe over to the value during this last trip. The toilet paper is terrible, I mean seriously I cannot even believe they cheap out on that. 2 ply vs. 1 ply LOL. You get ONE bottle of shampoo with the conditioner mixed in, thin wash cloths and towels, no pool towels...you bring them from your room. Crappy pillows, double size beds (not queen), and thin pillows. And the door to the room practically hits the beds LOL. Sooo with that said, you do get what you pay for, and it's totally fine, but I imagine it can be surprising for those that have never stayed value, and just think it's a smaller room.

We stay at the Pop Century. They have a separate bus which helps getting back and forth from parks. For value resort we never had a problem, but as previous poster mentioned it is VALUE, lol

Re: which is your fav Value resort at Disney?
We normally stay deluxe - usually the contemporary or poly. Our last trip in February was last minute so we decided to try a AoA suite for the extra space. I mostly liked the resort - loved the room (having a separate bedroom is key for us with a toddler), loved the theming.
What I didn't like was the food court. It is a MADHOUSE in the morning for breakfast. During the week we were there tons of South American tour groups were there. They were mostly staying at POP but they were sending the overflow to the AoA food court during peak hours. I didn't care for that. It was basically impossible to get a cup of coffee. Other times it was fine. They had a decent amount of choices but I still prefer having a sit down meal option.
I also found the furniture in the room uncomfortable. We would come back to the room so DD (and DH!) could nap and I would go get a drink and relax on the couch and watch some tv or use my ipad. After a day or two the couch became really uncomfy. It is a pull out so that's probably why.
We didn't use the transportation from the resort since we had a car so I can't speak to that.
One other thing to consider is that if you stay in a Little Mermaid (standard) room you will have a VERY far walk to the main building.
I would definitely stay at AoA again. It was definitely a nice change to have a separate bedroom. Our next stay we have rented points for a 1 bedroom at BLT so I'm looking forward to that as well. Good luck whatever you decide!

We stayed at AoA in the Little Mermaid room when we went and would not stay there again. It was such a far walk, and as others pointed out, the amenities are terrible. I am going next week and we are staying at Port Orleans FQ.

Re: which is your fav Value resort at Disney?
We stayed at AoA in a Cars suite and thought it was amazing. (We have stayed at deluxe and mod resorts in the past). The bus transportation was fine. The suites are not a long walk from the main building. The Mermaid rooms def are. My MIL stayed in one of those and it was a hike. It wouldn't deter me from staying there, but that's me.
My only real complaint was not having a sit down restaurant available. The food court was nice for what it was, but it was loud as heck in there and could be chaotic around peak meal times. It would have been nice to have another option.
That said, the suite for us is a necessity with two young kids. When they are older and can stay up later then we'll probably go back to the higher class resorts.

Re: which is your fav Value resort at Disney?
We just came back for the Caribbean one. I'm not sure if it is considered a value resort but it was much cheaper than where we usually stay. (Wild Kingdom). We stayed in the pirate theme room and my kids loved it and the pool. I did see a difference in accommodation and heard a lot of complaints on the bus from others who usually stay closer. We really are not in the room that much anyway

Strange right? I couldn't believe it myself. Not even the kid's meal ones. Those were the ones my kids were looking forward to since every other value resort food court has them.
They also had the Mickey ice cream bars hidden behind the counter. No mention of them anywhere on the signage, I actually had to ask about them. Really weird!
