Disney - Value Resort

So I booked All Star Sports for DH, DD and
I during the free dining offer but now I am second guessing it.... All the other value resorts seem so much cuter - is it worth it to lose the free dining and use 20% off the room rate and just add the dining package???

If will cost more - like $300-$409 more I think....

I was thinking of moving it to All Star Movies...

DD is 5 and it's her first visit....

Thanks,

Did you pay to upgrade to the regular dining plan or just go with the quick service that went with the value resort.

Have you priced it out? Is it past the free dining offer to move to movies? Have you seen if you can move?

The quick service plan IMO is not a good deal. The regular dining plan can be depending on where you are eating. Free dining can be a great deal but you pay rack rate. For some the room discount is a good deal especially if you are not going to get the full value of the dining plan.

I like the freedom of not being on the plan. You can get salads etc. it used to be a better deal when it included apps and tips (basic plan)

The All Star Sports is the cheapest of the values. With that said, I find it to be my second favorite. (Pop is my first..never stayed at Art). We are not sports fans AT ALL, but the Surf's Up pool is cute, there are large bowling pins, larger than life characters. etc. Our room overlooked the "football field" area, and we actually really enjoyed it. There is a nice, new food court, and the pools are fun. We were just there in February.

We stayed at Movies last year and didn't like it at all. The theming is cuter, service was bad, you aren't first on the bus stop (Sports is), so the buses were always crowded. The a/c in both rooms was awful! Didn't kick on in the middle of the night since it was on a sensor. And well, no one is moving around in the middle of the night for it to kick on! Tried to override the system, didn't work. Was miserably hot, and like I said, it was both rooms our family members were staying in. I ended up writing a nice constructive criticism email and got a nice refund of a portion of our stay. So maybe those issues have been fixed, who knows. But I wasn't willing to risk it this past February.

I would stay where you are to be honest!!

We are doing the the free dining but staying at Pop Century. (I've heard good things about it). We also upgraded from the value dining plan because we will be there for ten days and we want some sit down meals and character dining.

I actually like the dining plan, we used it the last time we were at Disney. I like it better now that it's free.

Thx everyone....

I ultimately decided to go with Art of Animation - Little Mermaid room - rack rate and I took the dining plan too - more then I wanted to spend but I will continue to check if any other resorts open up with free dining and possibly switch it....

I know my DD will love the room so much more.....

I was SO close to booking that room too but then I changed my dates and Pop was available.........I couldn't pass up the free dining.

The Little Mermaid room looks so adorable, I'm sure your DD will loooove it. Hope she has an awesome first trip!!
