Pumping "schedule" at work
In September I will be going back to work. I am a teacher and have just received my schedule minus my duties. Since those are assigned separately by the AP, I figure I better put in requests since I plan on pumping. Does the following pump schedule sound ok? DS will be 4 months. I assume he'll be eating about every 3-4 hours.
BF at ~6 am Pump at 8:30 am Pump at 11 am Pump at 2:30 pm Pick up from daycare at about 4:45-5, BF when necessary

Pumping
Sounds good! I used to do the same before I got lazy lol.
I did:
MOTN (between 3 & 5am) 8 11-11:30 2-2:30 6-6:30 or whenever I got home 9-9:30 12-12:30
Now I just do: 8-8:15 2-2:30 7-8 11-12
ETA: I don't BF, I EP.

Re: Pumping "schedule" at work
Looks good, the only thing is whenever i went over 3 hours, i got really uncomfortable, especially early on. Is there any way you can make your 11:30 later or 2:30 earlier? It's really hard for teachers to pump, I applaud you!

Pumping
I could try, but then my schedule will vary everyday, which is a bigger pain. Right now, I've gone 3.5-4 hours with no discomfort during the day. At night, he sleeps 6-8 hours and while I'm very full, I'm never uncomfortable.
The reason why I think this can work this year is because I am on a "light" schedule this year meaning every other day I get an additional 45 minutes off. Last year, when pregnant, I was on a heavy schedule abs had to teach an extra section.

Re: Pumping "schedule" at work
I didn't want to pump more than twice/day at work (really difficult to schedule it in, plus the time to set up, having enough clean parts (I only owned 2 parts sets), storing milk, etc.) so I did (approx.):
6 am (before leaving for work) 10 am 2 pm 6 pm (when I got home from work) 10pm
Sometimes more than this at home but never more than twice at work. This was enough to maintain a really good supply (way more than I needed actually).
Good luck! Pumping at work was rough! Between comments from coworkers (so rude & unsupportive), plus carrying that heavy thing every day on the subway, it was a stressful experience (but worth it!)

Re: Pumping "schedule" at work
I think your schedule looks doable. My baby at 4m and still at 5m eats every 2.5-3 hours - never 4 hours between feedings. LO sleeps 12 hours at night so no feedings overnight. As long as I pump enough ounces in a day to replace what LO drinks in my absence then I'm good. And of course I try to pump regularly so I never become too full. I do the following:
6ish BF 9am pump 12pm pump 3pm pump 5:30 BF 9ish pump an extra "feed"
I keep the 9pm pump to build up a little extra and also to offset my workday pumps if they fall short of the ounces I need.

Pumping
Thanks Everyone. Based on what everyone wrote, I think my schedule is doable - although the timing between pumping is not 100% ideal, but it is what it is.

Pumping
That was almost my exact schedule. I would BF DD before I left for work at approx 545am, then I would pump at 830am, 12pm and 3pm, BF when we got home at 6pm and as many times overnight as needed. She BF for 13mo.

I really should be pumping an extra time at work but I just can't find the time for it around meetings and everything
