dh is sick so I can't leave DS home with him. How do u go to the supermarket alone with a 2 month old? Baby wear? Pull stroller behind you?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If you're getting only a few items, I'd put the car seat inside the cart (not on top). If you're getting a cartful, I'd definitely babywear.

I agree. Most of the time I would only pick up essentials, so I put DD's infant car seat in the back of the cart and used the seat part and underneath the cart for groceries.

If you don't need that much, I would (and have many times) just taken in my own stroller and put the items in the bottom. My snap n go had a good amount of room in the basket.

Same here. You can get a ton of stuff in the bottom of a snap and go. If you have a mommy hook you can hang bags on the back too. If you're doing bigger trip, I'd wear the baby.

I used to keep dd in her car seat in the main part of the shopping cart and just bought essentials since I didn't have much room left in the cart.

2 month old I'd definitely baby wear. My DD would sleep the whole time.

The top of the cart is not even an option. Nobody needs groceries that badly to risk a major injury to their newborn.

Honestly, I hate taking DD on shopping errands. I would do peapod pick up if it's available around you. It's free and they bring the groceries to the car. Do the morning though to ensure freshness. If they don't have something I need I'm already at the store so I just pop in and grab it. That's just me, I'm a terrible shopper.

Baby wear!

Wanted to add that now even with a 1 year old who will sit in the cart, I prefer to baby wear so I can walk away from my cart if i need to.

What she said. Whenever I wear DD around the supermarket, someone always comments. Once an older man asked what aisle I got her in Chat Icon

Re: Supermarket with baby

I usually put his carrier in the cart. 2 month old DS and I have done all the grocery shopping together since he was 2 or 3 weeks. So far, no problems.

If I was in market Im loading up enough to keep me out of market for at least a week. I would use my Bjorn carrier.

Same here. At that age I had dd in her car seat/snap n go. The basket fit a lot. I also had a basket that I would either carry or hook onto the stroller with the mommy hook.

You could also wear them and use a full cart.

I have a two month old who hates to be worn. I put his carrier I'm the cart with two baskets underneath the cart( lthe ones for small trips). I put stuff around the cart and then use the baskets for overflow. Works great!

I always pushed the stroller and pulled the wagon. It's manageable, annoying, but manageable. Chat Icon

No I just don't go over board. It's my kid and I do as I see fit. Feel free to call someone since you think I'm an unfit parent. My kid is perfectly safe.
