How long does coxsackie typically last?
DD was exposed over the weekend and today her temp is creeping up. We're supposed to go to sesame next Tuesday. Wondering if we'll likely need to cancel and how long we'd be stuck inside if that's what she ends up having. Ugggh

DDs have it now for the first time. DD1 had a fever and sore throat for like 36 hours and then was FINE, no other spots. DD2 had a 103 fever yesterday, went to PM Peds last night, had spots on throat last night, spots today on chin and feet. Dr. said once the spots show they are no longer contagious and just uncomfortable.
I'll let you know how long they last.

How long does coxsackie typically last?
It was two days of hell, with no eating or sleeping, and then he broke out in the blisters, which took about 5 days or so to clear up.

DD spiked a fever Thursday, blisters on Friday and she was totally 100% fine by late Monday.
But, it was a more mild case.

about a week - 2 days of high fever and 5 for the lower fever/blisters to go away.
Both of my boys have always only gotten it in their throats -

Crossing my fingers it passes quickly! Yesterday I thought we were dealing with a full on stomach virus and then she was fine an hour later. Even if she's not contagious with just the rash I can't see playing at a water park with open blister where she could pick up anything.

DS had 2 days of fever and sore throat, then it went away but sore throat lingered on and off, and then a week after the sore throat first appeared it got really bad again and he broke out in spots all over -- mostly hands, feet, but also waist, shoulders, mouth area, throat, etc. Ped said dots usually appear at the end but that he was contagious until the dots were gone. He got a few on a Sat night, most on Sun, and he didnt truly feel better until the Wed/Thurs after. So, beginning to end he was out of commission close to 2 weeks although he did have a period in the middle where he felt OK.
DH got it from him last Tues and is just now starting to feel better... so, a little over a week.
It sucks :(

That could've been part of the coxsackie too - I've been reading up on it trying to get the same answer as you!
My ped told me that once the blisters are crusted, they are no longer contagious.
DS just had a fever yesterday but, it's gone already today. A few new blisters popped out though. He seems more comfortable - he's napping better than he did yesterday (a longer stretch).

How long does coxsackie typically last?
DD had it first very bad, lasted 7+ days. The last time was mild, maybe 3-4 days.

How long does coxsackie typically last?
My doctor said if the blisters are open and still has a temp they are contaigious. My son only had them in his throat so as soon as he was fever free for 24 hours he went back to daycare. It was a long 5 days!! Not saying you would, but if she still has open blisters please keep her away from other kids - this is a terrible virus to have! My son got it from another kid in daycare who got it from saf-t-swim. I wish parents would just keep their kids home!!

I still have NO clue where she got it. She showed no symptoms of anything until the day she spiked a fever and the blisters in her mouth popped up the next day.

SUCKS
I am always super cautious and the make a point to stay home until we're fever free for 24 hours as much as I'm crawling up the walls! We were around a little one who had it so bad on Saturday, fever, rash all over her, blisters but I didn't realize at first (nor was I warned) and the first thing I did was bring DD over to tickle her feet. By the time we left (it was a long backyard wedding reception) the other baby there was starting to have a fever. Those two were together the whole week so who knows if DD could have gotten from the one who was obviously sick or the one who was possibly just coming down with it. Going to wake her up now and see if she's gotten any worse. Hopefully not!

That's terrible!!! Why would her parents bring her somewhere when she was that sick?!!?

We got back from Sesame on Wed my niece got it right away and by sunday she was feeling better and eating. DD 1 got it full blast on Saturday and DD2 got it Sat/Sunday showing signs of rash. They are just themselves today.
If you go to Sesame just wash your hands ALL the time.. That is where they got it. And me too. I feel bad for them knowing how i feel today i had a 104.2 fever. and i find that people have no consideration, if you r kid has a fever keep them away from others
