Summer vacation plans
Can you share your summer vacation plans?
I have gotten so many good ideas from you LIF mommies.
We have some weekend trips to PA planned but that is it.
I keep looking into a European cruise but I think my younger child is too young at age 3.

Camelbeach (PA) water park Liberty Science Center (NJ) Great Wolf Lodge (PA)
Our big summer vacation is a driving trip to Canada (Niagara Falls, Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa) with my parents. I am not sure if it is a good or bad idea to go on a driving vacation with my parents, but we shall see.

Summer vacation plans
Most of our summer has filled up with showers and weddings including a few that we'll be staying upstate for. Aside from that we'll be doing a day trip to sesame and planning to head to Block Island at least once.

Re: Summer vacation plans
Vacations are my favorite part of summer! We already went to Flirida for a week at the beginning if June. My friend and I decided to pick up and take the kids to Miberals for a night on Monday. My sister and I are taking the kids to Williamsburg for a week on July 5. DH and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary a little early and going to Aruba alone for 5 nights at the end of July. And then we will probably do a few days at a beach house in CT sometime in August.

Then, in August, we are going to Montauk for a week with him.

Re: Summer vacation plans
We are doing revel for three nights in July. Dd is 2 and had so much fun on "bacation" when we took her for two nights last month. Their pool is awesome and we are going to do the AC aquarium this time. We are also going to poconos for three days in August and going to camelbeach. Our trips will be local since we are going to Florida in the fall
- we took her to land of make believe last week. Fun! - farms/ petting zoo - have tickets to liberty science center (waiting for a rainy day) - took her to bow craft amusement park (nj) -went to a few carnivals/festivals
Maybe one more weekend trip like please touch museum, sesame place, crayons factory, Lancaster/ Dutch wonderland, Hersey park

I have gotten so many good ideas from you LIF mommies.

I keep looking into a European cruise but I think my younger child is too young at age 3.
We had been looking at a European cruise as an option too. For me the airfare was just too much to bring 2 small kids. I think it would depend on what your expectations were for Europe as far as sightseeing also. Having not traveled to Italy before I would want to hit up major attractions that kids would probably not be interested in. If I was to go with my 3 and 5 year old we would either do NCL epic or Royal, both have camp programs available for 3 year olds that we have used in the past and would be somewhat familiar to kids.

Yes, the airfare is so expensive nowadays. $1500-2000 per person so we are talking $6000-8000 for airfare and then ~$10,000 for the actual cruise plus whatever we will spend at the actual ports.
Unlike our short trips to FL and the Caribbean, we do not plan to do this European cruise often (probably only once or twice together as a family in their lifetimes). We don't want to waste all that money and time if the flight is going to be miserable and the port excursions not great because of the kids' ages.
At the same time, I am dying for some vacations that are not completely kid oriented but it is hard given their young ages.

Re: Summer vacation plans
We rent a house on the north fork every year. We are within walking distance to the beach and always rent a house with a pool!
We go to orient, greenport, shelter island, sag harbor, hamptons, Montauk. We go to the riverheard aquarium and the outlets. We have even taken the ferry to CT for the aquarium and children's museums there!
SO much to do on the North Fork and South Fork in the summer!
