Adding in bottles sooner rather than later

DS is 6 weeks old and Dd is 3 years old. She had been doing pretty good with me spending a lot of time feeding the baby but recently she's started to act out during nursing sessions and while I don't want to reward this behavior I do understand her wanting and needing my attention and in trying to find some sort of balance I wonder if giving DS a bottle sometimes (if I have pumped milk) would help balance her behavior

Or does anyone have any advice on what to do or say to my 3 year old to help her?

I've given my DS an occasional pumped bottle (1-2 times a week) since 2.5 weeks. So far, no problems. I just pump around the the time he gets the bottle (usually).

Starting at 1 week I pumped so dh could give dd her bedtime bottle to make him feel more involved. I bet that would help a lot in your case too.

I don't think it can hurt to try giving the baby a bottle. If dd continues to act out then go back to nursing.
I found that it helped my dd (she's only 16 months and Ds is 3 weeks). She was acting out and also only wanting me when Dh was home trying to put her to bed etc. I gave a bottle to Ds and dd didn't seem to mind that as much as nursing. I also let dd watch tv while I nurse which we never have on otherwise. She started to get excited when she sees me pick up Ds - she runs to her chair and waits for the tv
