Facebook videos of abuse

Recently I've seen some videos on Facebook of child and animal abuse. Someone kicking a cat, a dad throwing his baby in a pool and now today a video of a woman repeatedly beating a baby. It absolutely turns my stomach and I don't understand where these videos are coming from. Who are the sickos who record this type of abuse and then put it on the Internet?? I'm just so disturbed by this and it pains me to think that there are ppl out there doing this and not getting caught.

I'm glad to say I haven't seen any of these but that is seriously disturbing! I really hope those people get caught. That is so sick. Why are people reposting them anyway???

I vowed that I would stay away from FB because of stuff like that. I just can't stomach it, and it ends up haunting me for a while.

It makes me sick. The most recent one I saw, was a mom holding her 3 year old son forcing him to get a tattoo on his arm and he was screaming in pain Chat Icon

I guess ppl repost it hoping that someone will recognize the abuser and report them, and I saw on the news that they did arrest the dad that threw the baby in the pool. It still makes me so sad and I can't get it out of my head that someone would harm a child. I hate it!

Ugh .. the problem is.. these monsters have always and will always exist. At least if they are stupid they put it on facebook and can get caught.

same!
I haven't seen any of these types of videos but I do have someone on facebook who posts street fight videos. These people look to be beaten within an inch of their life and it just disgusts me. I have hid this person from my news feed. I cannot imagine seeing videos of a baby being beaten Chat Icon

Re: Facebook videos of abuse

I always see them posted with the tag "Share and help find this person". I can't even watch those videos, too upsetting.

I know what you mean. I don't want to see these types of things because they disgust me and really get me down.

Maybe on the bright side, these animals will have a better chance of getting caught. Still terrible though. Chat Icon

I don't see these posts but if the goal is to catch the person, why didn't the person watching/getting video just call the police at the time of the abuse? Chat Icon Chat Icon
I mean if you have time to tape it, you have time to call and give relevant details.

They're horrible although I think they are always spread around in hopes to catch whoever did it. I hate it too but if it means that these people have a better chance of being caught and charged then it's worth it.

All of the stories/ videos have been on the news and in the news paper. So are you sure it's not a repost if a news story?

I would just not watch the videos. Just because things are out there doesn't mean you need to watch them.

I post a lot of the animal abuse videos/pictures. Without awareness nothing can ever be done.

Also, the more outrage, the more chances of authorities acting, feeling the heat. People are motivated to call/email district attorneys, media, etc. when they see things.

If people don't like it they can of course defriend.

The only thing I've seen like that has been an actual news story.

I saw one yesterday, the one with the woman repeatedly hitting the baby with a pillow, pinching him etc. It was insane and went on forever. I couldn't even watch, it wasn't a news story post. Someone shared it saying they want people to be aware of abuse that is going around them.

I have seen all of them including the woman beating her infant. IDK where they come from, but the woman was from Malaysia and I think due to the video images on Facebook, they caught her, but SHAME on the person taping itChat Icon

I have to admit that I hide people that post these things. I love animals and I'm all for bringing these abusive pos to justice, but I just get too upset when I see the pics and vids. I think about it all day.

I get that. My mom cannot look either. I also think about it not just all day but for months. It does get in my head, but I actually feel worse if I don't get involved.

Yes, that's the one that pushed me over the edge. It was gut wrenching and I couldn't get it out of my head. All I kept thinking about was my baby and how much I care for her and it just broke my heart thinking there was a baby out there being treated so horribly. Honestly it left me feeling helpless, like I didn't know this woman and so what could I do? You know what I mean? Very sad.

I saw that one first thing this morning on a FB moms group and was crying hysterically for that poor baby. I wish I hadn't seen it Chat Icon Hours later and I'm still thinking about it.
