20 month old sleep help!

I don't post much, but always read the helpful info on the boards. I am having a big sleep problem with my 20 month old dd.
it took her a long time to become a good sleeper, but at about 11 months she finally started sleeping perfectly. I would put her in her crib at 8pm and she would go right to sleep and sleep all night. She would also go right in to her crib for naps with no issue. She was never one to sleep on me and hated sleeping in our bed.
All that has gone out the window now :( We went on a vacation and she napped in bed with us and would wind up sleeping with us in the bed because they only had a pack and play which was small for her.
The first night back from vacation she launched herself out of her crib. She continued to do so and we feared she would hurt herself so we put her in her big girl bed. The problem now is she only wants to sleep with us. I have to lay in the bed with her until she falls asleep and then the second she wakes up in the middle of the night she hops right down and comes straight to our room. Then i either have to let her sleep with us or bring her back to her bed and lay there until she is sleeping again. She will also only nap in my bed. At least she is napping so that is not awful. I just don't know how to get her to sleep in her bed. I tried bringing her back every time she gets up - like super nanny suggests. She would literally get out as soon as I put her in and it went on for hours.
Sorry this is so long, but any advice would be much appreciated!

Sounds like you need a gate on the door. She will learn quick enough.

Time to do Crying it out again

ITA with the gate and/or CIO ideas ... you could also try bribing her with m&m's or stickers or something.

I have thought about the gate, but I am worried that she will just try to climb over it since she climbs over everything!
A friend told me to put some kind of lock on the outside, but that makes me uncomfortable.
I would be fine letting her cry it out a bit if I could keep her in her bed!

What about putting one of those child proof covers over the inside door knob?

We have lever type handles on our doors. I had tried one on another door I didn't want her to open and she was able to figure it out. Maybe there is a better one out there. any recommendations?

She doesn't seem to care about being bribed -i've tried. Not sure if she gets it yet.
