How do I make the screaming stop??!!

DD will be 3 in a couple months. She is so sweet & usually pretty calm for a toddler but very dramatic & strong willed from day one. Her new thing is screaming. No matter what I say we're going to do she screams her head off "no or I don't want to." When I'm nice & give her a choice of 2 things she screams that she wants something that's not an option. If I don't give her a choice, she'll scream it's too tight or get upset about something else.
How do I react to this to make her stop?
I try to be calm & tell her she can just tell me what she wants nicely & we don't have to yell.
Yesterday I screamed back at her because I just couldn't take it Chat Icon that obviously made it worse because then she was really hysterical.
Any one else go through this?

Sorry to tell you 3 is sooooooo much worse than 2. Serenity now insanity later ( ala Seinfeld ) deep breaths and pray for year 4.

So helpful, I know Chat Icon

No choices. Just tell it like it is an ALWAYS follow through on a threat. For example my kids get a little dessert every night. Just a cookie or a couple of Hershey kisses. It's amazing how my DS realizes that I mean business's when his sister gets an Oreo for dessert and he gets nothing because he was fresh .

I know easier said than done, but I find the less I react to DD's screaming/tantrums, the less she does it.

Right now she's screaming bc I wouldn't let her pour the milk into her cereal. I'm enjoying my breakfast and ignoring her!

I usually will tell her that I dont respond to that tone and will ignore or walk away.

Glad I'm not alone but not so happy to hear that 3 may be worse then 2Chat Icon
I have to say, there could be some hope... when I wrote this a few days ago, she was at her worst, so bad she wasn't acting like herself so I took her temperature & she had a 101 feverChat Icon
I'm hoping that's why she was acting so bratty.
I guess we'll see.
I appreciate the advice because if she does keep this up I don't know how to react to the miserable screaming!
