I was horrified by this

I am manager at a clothing store and yesterday a customer left their newborn in the stroller near the fitting room while they shopped on the other side of the store. At first we thought someone just left their stroller aside with no baby but as time went by, customers were looking in the stroller, looking around and someone alerted me. I opened the stroller (it was covered) and saw the baby's face (covered by a blanket mind you) the infant could not have been more than 3 weeks old. We tried for 10 minutes finding the parents and soon as I went to call security someone found the mother (and grandmother so there were 2 people whole left the baby alone.) As a mother how do you even do that? I can't believe that people in the world just don't care. This was a busy store as well. I can't let my kid out of my sight for a second she is 17 months. Anyone could have walked out and abducted that baby and no one would have known Chat Icon

I agree - this is REALLY scary! Is it possible the mom thought the grandma had the baby and vs versa?

Re: I was horrified by this

Holy sht!!! Just last week I had no choice but to pee with the stall door open and my dd's stroller wedged in the door frame to block me a little bc I refused to leave her on the other side and close the door bc I couldn't see her for that one minute and her stroller didn't fit in the stall.

DD does not leave my sight....ever

I did not want to jump to any conclusions but my employee told me the stroller was there a good 45 minutes, when she realized no one standing around it was the parent that's when she became concerned , they were both together in another section of the store

The fact that it took you 10 minutes to find them scares me... It doesn't seem like you work in a small store.. And with two adults there - insane!

Re: I was horrified by this

Wow, horrific.

Makes you almost want to say, there are loads of people who would love to have a baby. Why not put your DC up for adoption if you care that little?

Just gross. they will do it again, too.Chat Icon

I was horrified by this

This gave me anxiety just thinking about leaving DD alone like that!

Especially with all the sick stories we've been hearing lately about all the nut jobs out there

What did you say to the mother? What was her reaction? I think I would've gone nuts on her!

Very scary. I bring my DC into the bathroom stall with me, stroller and all, when I am in a mall with them alone. Cant imagine this.

Yet if you got security or took the baby to the security office, you'd be the monster. I cannot stand this shit. This is one of my top pet peeves!

Same thing with the moms who let their kids run around like animals and assume everyone else is keeping an eye on their kids.

What a disgusting, neglectful, POS. Chat Icon Chat Icon

I would've called security and the police. You don't leave a NB, infant, or child alone for a second. Not a second. That's all it takes for something to go wrong!!!

Why couldn't they shop while pushing the baby in the stroller???? People are unreal. She should have her ovaries ripped out so she can't ever reproduce again. Pathetic excuse for a mother.

Stories like this upset me so much. Chat Icon Babies are so helpless, how can you just toss them aside like that??? I'm horrified.

That is horrible.

Reminds me if something my sister in law told me. She was at the verizon store and overheard these girls talking about their sorority. Then they were going on to say how they hated that this one girl would always want to being her baby when they went out to lunch. The baby always cried and disrupted their lunch. they said they would pour out the formula from all the bottles in the diaper bag so when the baby cried she would have no choice but to leave. I was so disgusted. If I overheard those girls I would've slapped them! To do that to an innocent baby! I just can't
