BTDT: baby personality

My DD is 7 months and she seems to be a little "strong-willed" so to speak. She fights naps and gets cranky kinda often. For some reason I just think she is going to give me a hard time growing up and won't be so easy going.

Has anyone experienced this with their LOs? I am just wondering if I am seeing little hints into her personality or she is just literally being a baby. Chat Icon

Mine are older now and they are the exact opposite of their baby/toddler personalities now.

The ones that were harder, spunky, strong willed babies are much more reserved and well behaved now.

Those that were super easy babies are now giving me a run for my money and sanity.

This! DD was a pretty easy baby. DH and I could tell early on that she was going to be a clever, funny kid, which is still true. But she was usually happy, rarely cranky, and just went with the flow. Then 2.5 hit and now 3. She can still be a lot of fun, but is definitely giving us a run for our money in the pushing-buttons dept.

I think that personality really starts at around 4 months or so.

DS is at almost 4 what he was at 4 months. Fights naps, demanding, super stubborn.

DD is & was always an easy child. She tantrums, but otherwise is super easy (I'd have 4 kids by now if I only had kids like that).

Maybe not what you wanted to hear.

Re: BTDT: baby personality

Yup. I saw her personality from the second she came out of me.
She came out screaming. Now I know all babies come out screaming. But GOOD LORD she was screaming like nothing I have ever heard from a newborn before. I even said to the nurse- WHY is she screaming like that?

That first night in the hospital I saw her fighting her swaddle a bit. Getting a little fiesty.

I knew I was in trouble.

She has been strong willed since then and now, at almost 4 - watch out!

Yup, this for DS2. He is 2.5 now. Was the easiest and happiest baby. You can put him anywhere and he was fine. Right around 20months or so he got very stubborn with things and has been like that since.

BTDT: baby personality

She didnt really show her personality until around 10m. She was literally a completely different child from 0-10 than she is now lol. She was so happy, smiled at everyone never cried...

Hmm some mixed reviews... I'm just a little nervous that she's going to be a wild child.

I guess time will tell. Chat Icon

I also think I'm in for it! DD at 9 mos is so feisty and just a complete spitfire. She does not sit still and when she does for a few moments here or there, I actually get nervous.

She's our first and we want more but I'm terrified of having another rambunctious baby, which of course I will love to pieces. Glad to hear some of the active babies mellowed out.

Re: BTDT: baby personality

DS1 was a tough infant especially during the first 6 months. He needed to be held a lot and would only sleep in our arms. He was a pretty easygoing toddler and still is that way at 5.

DS2 was a pretty easy baby, but since he turned 1, he has been a handful. I worry a little about how difficult he's going to be especially over the next few years. He's definitely strong willed. He'll be 2 in July.

Re: BTDT: baby personality

DD is only 2, but she has a pretty strong personality. She has always been pretty independent and likes to do her own thing. So, in other words...I'm screwed Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: BTDT: baby personality

My DS was a VERY difficult baby till around a year when he got much easier (he'll be 2 this month). For him I think it would drive him nuts that he couldn't do what he wanted to do as a baby. He wanted desperately to move, walk, talk etc. Now he is not quite a go with the flow type of kid he is much easier then he was! He has never been a good or long sleeper. (other then overnight). But I guess my take home is that there is hope!. I remember being so insanely jealous of my friend whose baby boy was as sweet and laid back as they come. Well between 1 and 2 he has turned into a little hellion and now she is jealous of me haha. I think they all go through phases.

BTDT: baby personality

My son is 11 months and over the past few months he changed from a demanding, high maintenance and somewhat sullen infant to a very cool, happy and laid back older kid! I firmly believed that he HATED not being able to get around on his own. He feels more in control now - we saw a huge change when he started sitting up/crawling
