Not sure what you're looking for in an orthopedist, but I see Dr. Semel at St. Charles Hospital, who is actually a physiatrist...so she deals with how the body moves. She evaluates and prescribes the leg braces for my DD. I love her, as does everybody in the circle of other kids with DD's disability. If you're interested, her number is 631-474-6879.
We're looking for a neurologist too, since DD's retired.

Anyone have an awesome
We saw Dr. Whallach iin stonybrook for a ped orthopedist. I would probably not use him again to be honest. Just thought I would share since there don't seem to be many options. He moves so fast from patient to patient that you barely get a chance to process what's going on and think of questions before the appointment is over. I also wasn't happy about some things DD's PT noticed that I think he should have seen first.

I loved Dr. Wallach at Stony Brook. I think he's great to be honest. Very proactive in correcting my daughter's toe walking.
As for a Neuro, Dr. Duchatelier at Pedatric Specialty Care. Affiliated with Good Sam.

Depends on what type of orthopedic you need. But anyone at the hospital for special surgery is great!! If the LO will need surgery I'd def recommend using them
