Swim Lessons

DS didn't get in the swim lessons at Eisenhower park; looking for another reasonable priced option in Nassau County (or Queens). I keep hearing mixed reviews about Saf-T-Swim. I just saw Swim & Scuba ; I can't get in touch with anyone at the Central queens Y for their swim info!

Any other suggestions?

TIA!

I wanted to take DD here, but it seems like it's only for kids ages 2 and up...is that true?

I think so. It is group lessons only. We had a horrible teacher there. DD sat on the side basically the whole class except for about 5 half laps where they pulled her. She could swim on her own but the teacher wouldn't let her put her face in of anything. Awful. She loves swimming and hated it, people love or hate that place. It depends on the teacher.

I used to work at Saf-T-Swim. Expensive IMO but always got great fast results bc of the one in one lessons.

My son goes to New York sports club in Hicksville they are really reasonably priced and have small group max is 4 and also private lessons my son hasn't had more than 1 or two other kids in his swim class. The instructors are great and they have lots of class options and will even try to create a class for you based on your schedule. 2 of his teachers so far have been Gina and michelle both have been great.

My nieces both went to Saf-T-Swim and my sister was really happy with the staff. At 7 and 4 both girls are good swimmers and my older niece was on a swim team last summer.

Not a fan of Safety Swim at all! Perhaps other locations besides the Nesconset one are better though...

I've had a great experience at Nesconset. The mixed reviews will happen at any chain with so many instructors.

Re: Swim Lessons

Both DS and DD take classes at the JCC in Oceanside. Group and private classes available, all ages. Many of the group classes are on sunday. We really love it there. Great instructors and lots of classes. You do not have to be a member to take classes there.
