Country Music Fans
If I wanted to get into county, where should I start. I've never been a fan, but find myself liking it more & more. I like the folky country more than the rock country if that makes sense. Tia.

Give it time - listen to everything, not just the singles, Toby (for example) has amazing songs that were never released as singles on the radio. So, I would DL their albums - Eric too - and listen to everything. You'll find yourself liking songs that were never released to popular radio.

Try listening to some of the country stations online to get a little variety to see what you like. For more of a folk sound than a rock sound, I'd say try listening to George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Little Big Town, Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Travis Tritt, Trace Adkins, etc.

I used to hate country music but now like a certain segment of it. If you like folksy country try these:
-Anything by the Nashville Cast from the TV show Nashville (such good soundtracks)!!!
[Some of their individual names are: Lennon and Maisy Stella, Charles Esten, Sam Palladio, Clare Bowen, etc.]
-Lady Antebellum
-The Band Perry
-Zac Brown Band
-Mumford & Sons
-The Lumineers
-Rascal Flatts
-Carrie Underwood
-Miranda Lambert
-Taylor Swift
If you use pandora, I think you'd like the Nashville Cast Radio Station. They play a mix of country, folk, indie-folk-country merge.

Seriously, 94.7 is a great place, so is CMT or any of the other TV ones like GAC. I always found that seeing their videos really cements it for me.

I don't know 94.7 but I'm going to see if I get it. In suffolk, I mostly listen to 96.1 and sometimes 92.5 from connecticut. There are also some channels on the tv that I like (there's today's country, pop/country, and a more classic country channel).

It depends how far out in Suffolk you are. I usually lose it past the mid-50's on the LIE.
