How do you get through the pain?

On Thursday I began losing a pregnancy at 6.5 weeks and I just feel so devastated. I know that many have it worse than me and it was so early but I can't stop crying. I know many have experienced this many times, I know that my body is doing the right thing by expelling the unhealthy pregnancy but it does not lessen the pain. I don't know how anyone goes through this and would never wish the pain on my worst enemy. I wish I could just escape my skin. I wonder if I will ever feel like myself again. How do you get through the pain?

Oh mama, I'm so sorry!! It is one of the worst things to ever happen to a woman and it hurts like crazy. I wish I had the words to make you feel better, but I know they don't exist.
My advice: cry, yell, scream, and grieve. This board is such a huge support, so post here as much as you want.
Again, I'm so sorry.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I recently had a loss at about 5 weeks. Even though it was early, it still hurt (emotionally) in the worst way. No matter when the loss happens, it's still devastating to lose the baby that you had longed for and loved.

Some days, I've felt that I just needed to cry and be angry at the world, so that's what I did. On days that I've felt better, I've let myself enjoy that. You need to do what feels right for you on any given day.

Re: How do you get through the pain?

I have had three losses, two chemicals and one loss around 7 weeks after seeing a heartbeat. They were all hard, but the 7 week loss was the hardest by far. I could barely function for weeks, cried all of the time, and I felt like I was drowning. The only thing that helped me through it was talking to other people who had been through it too. It does get easier with time but the pain never truly goes away. Chat Icon

How do you get through the pain?

Like the other ladies have said, it's absolutely the worst thing a woman can go through. The only thing that I can say is that it gets better every day. One day you'll realize you made it through the whole day without crying, then you'll see you've gone two, then three, then a whole week will go by. Like secretlyTTCagain said, the pain does not go away, but it dulls a lot. I also think a lot has to do with your attitude, if you move forward with a positive attitude, that will help immensely. Knowing the girls here have been through it all too has also helped. Big hugs! Chat IconChat IconChat IconChat IconChat IconChat Icon

How do you get through the pain?

Sorry for your loss. I had one last month. Was supposed to be 8 weeks along, baby stopped growing at 6 weeks, we never heard a heart beat. It was hard and I did cry. Each day things seem to get better. Having some friends that went through this too helped.

Re: How do you get through the pain?

Im so sorry. I think each day will hurt less and less.
I think I cried for three days straight and then on the 4th day, I was just ok. I still have moments where my mind wanders and I feel emotional again but I try to keep a clear and postive mind and just look forward to trying again. Chat Icon

I'm so sorry. It really hits you hard. Do whatever you need to do to get through this time. It will get easier to deal with the pain in time. Do you have anyone you can talk to?

I'm so sorry you are going through this. It is definitely painful emotionally. I have had 4 losses this time around and it hurts every time. This last one was a blighted ovum and it hurt the most I think. I cried every day for some time. But as the days went on I would go longer and longer without crying. You never totally get over it but it will get better. Chat Icon

Thank you for your replies. It means a lot. I'm doing a lot better, although I have these random moments where I just break down. This may sounds weird but I feel a little guilty feeling sorry for myself when there are others who have had a more rough road than I have. I have already a healthy DD and I feel like I was naive because something like this happening never crossed my mind, my heart goes out to all of you and any who have experienced this, no matter what stage. Thank you for listening

How do you get through the pain?

I feel for you - I just had a miscarriage also a few weeks ago. I cried for days...thinking I will never be able to move on, never lose the pain of it. I was terrified of the acutal miscarriaging, but once I got through the first day it was ok. That next day I pushed myself to go to work and forgot about it in little moments, learning to laugh again. One day turns into 2, and so on. You may just surprise yourself with how strong you really are or become as a result.

Another tip: treat yourself to whatever it is that gives you momentary relief. Ice cream. Candy bar. Wine. Whatever your sweet treat it. It's ok to nurture yourself and give yourself small pleasures. Time will heal you and help you forward.

Good luck xo

You are being logical, which is wonderful, but doesn't lessen the pain. Just know that you will be blessed again. Chat Icon

How are you doing now?

I am actually doing a lot better than I was, I can get through the day without crying now. My betas went back down to 0. I feel like myself again. I am going for a full physical next week so I can rule out or address any underlying medical issues that could have increased my risk for miscarriage. We hope to be able to try again in few months.

I agree with the above. It's sp helpful to talk about it and that really helped me as well. I had four losses and one was at 9 weeks after a HB as well. Hang in there and don't be afraid to allow yourself some time to feel all the emotions you need to.

Many hugs and Im so sorry! Chat Icon
