Completely safe for baby since it's not small enough to choke on.
Really though, it's a cute way to be obnoxious and say "look at my ring!" I wish we saw more of North!

I've seen many newborn pics where the parents rings were on the baby's toes or in their hand. Don't really see much of a difference here.

Ok then what about any number of people? How is it different then any pic like this taken at a newborn photo shoot. I think it's strictly because it's Kim's baby that it's frowned on and that is sad. Yes she is a douche but still it's not the babies fault, and it is a cute picture!

At first I thought... LAME.. (and I am only judging because I dont like kim lol)
but then when i read that the caption said something like "2013 was a good year' I decided it was cute. What better way to show all the great things that happened that year!....... even if the ring is ugly (IMO) and shes engaged to an asshole.

If the Dutchess did it, it would be classy. Not a baby's hand in a gray sweater, with a gray background and a massive diamond screaming "look at me"
The pictures with the rings on the baby's toes usually show some more of the baby/family blurred in the background and are done more artistically than this.

The picture was to show what a good year it has been for her personally. The baby and engagement. I've seen a million newborn pics with wedding rings and/or engagement rings. It's the same thing. She's just saying she's happy.
