Re: Help Please - Baby Birds
aww... they will have to take care of the baby birds themselves, or they will probably die. If they put them back into the nest, the parent wil most likely not take care of them because they will have a human scent on them.

This is actually not true. Birds have such a limited sense of scent that they cannot detect human scent. It's one of those "old wives tales"
What the momma bird will react to is the fact that the nest is disturbed and she will take this as a sign of intrusion/danger - her sensory is visual not olafactory...and it is rare that she will abandon the nest b/c of the disturbance (it happens, but it's rare).

you can touch a baby bird with not worring about the parents taking care of them, they will go back to them if you can put them in a nest. if not find a box put them in there with grass, and up in a tree. if there is a old nest or even a bird house that will work too

Re: Help Please - Baby Birds
By accident this year I knocked 2 baby birds out of a nest I didnt know was there and I picked them up with my bare hands and put them back in the nest and I hear them up there about a month later chirping and the momma bird goes in and out of the nest all the time.

Re: Help Please - Baby Birds
This happened to me -- I scooped up the birds with a piece of cardboard and put them back in the birdhouse. They were fine!!
