Anyone not doing holiday photo cards this year?
I've been doing them for 7 years now and this year I just feel like doing a regular non pic photo card. Anyone else going this route this year even though you have kids?

Nope.. still doing cards. I have so many people who are so far away that rarely see AJ and/or we rarely talk to (even with FB these days) its more or less a "Hi, haven't forgotten you, see this lovely child, she's why I haven't picked up the phone, hope all is well, happy holidays" type thing LOL

No - I find the photo cards so much easier. Even if I don't get a great picture.

All of this. It's easier and I find it fun!! Start looking now bc I just got 30% off my Shutterfly cards! (I've used them 3 years in a row now with no complaints!)

Check out Groupon. I just got another Groupon for Zazzle. I used them last year & really like them. The deal is great & the designs that are available are perfect!

Anyone not doing holiday photo cards this year?
I'm too ocd to suddenly stop. I have to decide when I think they're too old and then pull the plug. Plus it's so much easier. Just use a regular pic. doesn't have to be a photo shoot.

Oh, I'll add that I have never ever had a professional photo shoot - I have a DSLR that I'm pretty good with and get beautiful pictures.

Oh, I'll add that I have never ever had a professional photo shoot - I have a DSLR that I'm pretty good with and get beautiful pictures.
Same here. I actually get creative with some props, get ideas off google and pinterest and just shoot away.
I always end up super proud of my pics and cards too.
I'm no photog but I am not half bad!

I enjoy receiving the picture cards, I usually save them and often put them up the next year. The regular ones I toss after Christmas. I always do photo cards. Easier than writing out a bunch. Plus my family doesn't see my kids often at all since they live in another state, so they enjoy the pictures each year.

Just having flashbacks of how last years photoshoot went it was horrendous trying to get 4 kids under 6 to be in one spot. The woman taking them was so overwhelmed I felt bad and my DH was there to help and said never again. I think I'll do one of them sleeping together in holiday pajamas or something and I'll take it myself.

You could always do 4 individual shots on one card. It's so much easier to photograph them on their own. No rule about them being all in one shot!

Me three! I take my own pics (this year we took them at the Oakdale Arboretum and DD wore her cute Christmas outfit).

Sleeping in pjs sounds adorable!!! And I agree with 4 different shots! Most of the sites let you put up to 6 photos (or more) on the front of the card. :)

I did the same this year. Every year I spend $200 plus on professional photos. I took my own and designed the card on photo affection and it came out great. I find it so much easier than hand writing every card. Plus I love getting photo cards of everyone else's kids!
