Even if your child is potty trained, don't you still need to carry around their snacks, change of clothes, toys,
Sippy cups, wipes, etc?

And if you do still carry one, do you just throw your wallet and phone in it still at this point? What about a small make up bag?

My friend stopped using her diaper bag when her DS was 2. She bought him a little school bag and put his snacks, toys, wipes, etc in there. He carries it around. She bought herself a super cute leather bag as a gift to herself.

I stopped after my DD was potty trained at 3y3m. Before that, I felt it was easier to keep using one.

ETA - I always used a separate pocketbook even when I had my diaper bag. Wasn't a fan of having everything in the diaper bag.

I had stopped using mine for quick outings before DD was potty trained. I would throw the diaper clutch and some snacks in my bag.

He was probably around 1 when I stopped. If I needed anything with us, it went in my pocketbook.

DS will be 3 next month... for the past year or so, I've just been carrying this bag from ThirtyOne. Its nice and big to fit all the "extra" stuff I still need (toys, maybe change of clothes, wipes, snacks, his cup...) but its still kinda cute, and washes really well in the wash. I save my super cute smaller bags for when I go out without him Chat Icon

DD is 22 months. For the past 6 months I have used my own large bag and brought her stuff (diapers, wipes, snacks, etc) in a large ziploc. When I switch bags I just switch the ziploc to the other bag. It actually works well.

I stopped using a diaper bag when the twins were 1.5 ish. Now I just use a small back pack for diapers, snacks, shoes (they will not wear them in the car) water cups.

I usually dont carry one now. DS is 2.5yo. He is not potty trained. I have a larger satchel type purse and I throw a diaper or 2, a small amount of wipes, a sippy and a snack in there. I leave extra back up clothes, diapers and wipes in the car.

I only use a diaper bag for longer outings, not trips to the store or anything like htat.

Re: At what age do you stop needing to carry a diaper bag?

I stopped when I didn't have to carry around bottles and messy food that would ruin my bag. -
My younger son is still in diapers, so I throw a ziploc of diapers/wipes and another ziploc of snacks into whatever bag I'm using at the time - it's usually my everyday LV neverfull b/c it's big enough for everything

I keep a change of clothes in the car, but don't carry it around.

I am always thinking "you never know" because I have had some instances where I didn't have it and wish I did. She is 3 and is still on and off with potty training so I have to have a change of clothes and wipes, her snacks, some toys, etc..

DD is just under 2, and I stopped using the actual diaper bag and just carry a smaller (lighter) tote bag with some diapers, wipes and snacks. Unless we are out for the day, then I switch back to the diaper bag and have extra clothes and first aid stuff in there too.
I use a wristlet for my stuff and usually throw it in the tote.

I have a Large Zipper Pouch from Thirty-One that I throw the diapers and wipes in. It's sooo easy. I just throw it in my purse, in the car, in the shopping cart, etc.
I know someone who sells Thirty-One if you are interested Chat Icon
