Paula Deen and Food Network

So I'm watching FN and "Home for dinner with Jamie Deen" is on... and he has his mom as a special guest!!

I'm surprised they would have her back on... even as a guest... maybe they are trying to ease her back on?

Re: Paula Deen and Food Network

I have seen her on a few episodes since the whole fiasco. I don't think they are new, but already taped and since it's not her show, I assume they just air it.

The whole "fiasco" was proven unfounded so hopefully she can get some of her career back on track.

I don't think it was ever proven unfounded. The case was dismissed because the parties came to a settlement.

He lied on his resume about people he'd cooked for and they found out (I believe).

Yeah I thought the case was dismissed because the woman who was suing was white and it was determined that she was effected by the comments. Paula admitted under oath that she used racial slurs. I hope food network doesn't let her back on.

The articles I read said they came to an undisclosed settlement.

Yes, although according to him it was more of an exaggeration than a lie. It lasted less than a year, in 2008 I think. Michael Symon briefly hosted Restaurant: Impossible.

Either way she still said the things that caused the food network and everyone else to drop her.

And now that's its blown over, I would bet the regret acting so hasty. She still has a big, broad DH base out there and was a money maker or the network and stores.
