Gia Allemand Was on the Phone with Her Mother as She Took Her Own Life
Donna Micheletti's voice choked with tears as she told Dr. Phil McGraw about her daughter Gia Allemand's final moments as she tried to commit suicide on Aug. 12.
In the heartbreaking interview set to air on Dr. Phil on Tuesday, Micheletti revealed she was on the phone with her daughter, 29, as she hanged herself in her New Orleans apartment.
Micheletti believes that the Bachelor star called her because "I'm the closest person in the world to her and she didn't want to be alone when she left this world. So she wanted Mommy to be there, I guess."
"It destroys me but if it made her feel better, then that's fine," she added. "I don't mind dealing with this."
Allemand was found unconscious by her boyfriend, NBA player Ryan Anderson, who performed CPR before she was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support. She died two days later.
A police report revealed that hours before she hanged herself, Allemand had argued with her boyfriend over suspicions he'd been unfaithful.
"I'm really mad that she did this for no reason," Micheletti said. "In 12 hours it would have been fine. I'm really angry."
Dr. Phil also talks to Jake Pavelka, whose season of The Bachelor Allemand appeared on.
"I've never lost anybody close to me," the reality star, 35, admitted with tears in his eyes. "Gia really understood me. We got really close after the show. We had such a special relationship. I can't tell you how lucky I feel that I knew her, but I wish it was not for such a short time, because I've never met anybody like her."

If I lost my child I would be a complete mess. There is no way I would want to be out there putting myself on TV. Gia wasn't that much of a celebrity that world Needs her interview. I am a little surprised that the mother is putting herself on TV.
If I was battling issues that caused me to take my own life, I don't want my family and friends telling the world about it.

I guess but it just seems so soon. My grandfather died at 93 after being in the hospital for a while and I couldn't even speak about it for months without getting so worked up.
It took 3 months to tell the people at my job that my dog died because I couldn't keep it together while talking about it until then.
It just seems so fast to be doing the talk show thing.

It's so true. It just seemed like such a rash decision, I know suicide commonly is. But no man is worth your life.

I guess I'm not really surprised.
Because I see it a lot on the morning talk shows. They want to talk to the family when it's still "raw". I don't know how some of them do it, just days after a death.
I guess, they just want to talk about their loved ones and get their story out there.
I'm sure I will be watching this episode to see why.

I don't know if it was in a different letter or something that wasn't released that was found. I can't remember how it was told to me. I think it's distasteful either way.

Because it's a big story that people claim they don't want to hear but you know they will watch the show.
Kind of like you posting details of someone's suicide on here. People read it because it's sensational. If no one cared a$$holes like Dr. Phil and this stupid board wouldn't exist.
I don't see the difference, her mom is just able to give more details because she was there. Maybe she wants to help others struggling with depression.
I don't get the judging.

It's clear the mom still seems in a state of shock and disbelief. She touched on how Gia would get depressed during her period. The jake guy seemed kind of artificial when he talked of her.
