Pajamas for a very large and broad baby.

Hello,

I have b/g twins and my little boy is not so little. HAHA! I am really having a hard time finding pj's for him. I like to keep the babies in footies at night, so they stay warm, but everything is so tight on him. I even tried 18 month pajamas, and his thigh is so chunky, I can't zip them up.

Anyone know of a nice soft stretchy footie that I can try for him, or should I just stick to the looser 2 piece pants/shirts? I don't love those because the belly always hangs out.

He is 23lbs and 29" tall, and WIDE.

Thanks if you have any tips..

How about the legging style pjs from the gap or old navy - the legs are stretchy and if you are worried about the top riding up put a long sleeve or short sleeve onesie underneath. Ps i love chunky babiesChat Icon

Are you making sure you are getting the looser fit ones and not the fitted ones.

What about putting him in a onesie and sleepsack? This way he's warm enough but his legs should have plenty of room. DS is 27.5" and he fits in a Medium sleep sack, but you might want to try the Large or even XL.

I have them wear the 2 piece pants and long sleeve pajama sets from Carters. I will not buy the fitted ones; they need to be looser in the arms and legs. I buy socks one size up for them to sleep in. I also usually buy one size larger in pajamas than I do in regular clothes.

Once my son started crawling, I hemmed all of the the pant-legs. I will do the same for my daughter once she gets mobile.

Thanks ALL..I'm thinking a long sleeve onsie with an XL sleepsack might be a good cure (his arms get cold), this way his belly doesn't hang out. LOL..He is only 6 months old, and just so big!!

Re: Pajamas for a very large and broad baby.

Osh Kosh is the larger line for Carters and they run big too. My son is now six years old and wears a size 7 the largest that Carters carries, but Osh Kosh goes up to a 12 kids size (for the future for you).

eta: I always needed to size up one size for pjs. Also, look for the ones with the wide legs, not the fitted ones.

Did you try gap and Gymboree pjs? I know the reg clothes tend to run wide
