Come in if your 3 month old does/did still wake up for a night feeding
My DS was STTN by 3 months old so I am worried by the fact that DD is not yet. Since Sunday, she has been waking up again at 3 to eat. She ate 3 oz last night so it's not as if she just wants to suck, I think she was really hungry. The funny thing is, by 7 weeks she had dropped that feeding and was sleeping until 5/6ish. Now at 12 weeks, she is back to waking at 3. Is this ok? Should I trying even harder to get her to not eat and skip that feeding? She woke at 3 but I tried to soothe her until 3:20 and she just wasn't having it. Do babies still need that feeding at 3 months? I know this is my second but I feel so clueless!

My DD is 6 months old and wakes randomly throughout the night. One of those times, she WILL NOT go back to sleep without a baba... but she doesn't eat enough during the day so that's our issue.
At 3 months, she was still waking for two feedings... Ped told me not to withhold any feedings from her yet at that age so if she woke and wanted to eat, I fed her.

not getting enough oz in during the day is our issue too...
she goes to sleep SO early at night. I cant ask her to sleeps 630-630 without a bottle, not yet, not when she is only taking 6oz bottles. Once we up to 7-8oz (if she gets there) I may look to drop that 4-5am bottle.

Every kid is different with their sleeping and eating patterns so I wouldn't be worried. Your DD will find her own routine when she's ready.
How much is she eating throughout the day? Maybe try increasing her bottles or at least giving her a little more for the last nighttime bottle before bed.

I'm trying so hard not to worry but my anxiety is taking over. I'm trying to let her find her own routine but it's hard with a 4 year old as well. Thank you for saying it though, I need the reminder!
You are all hitting the nail on the head that she isn't eating enough throughout the day. She is still only eating 4 oz bottles except the last bottle is 7 oz. usually for a total of 25 oz. That seems too little. I think my DS at this age was eating closer to 30 oz a day.

I compare compare compare too and I have to make an effort to remember not to.
DD is 16lbs at 6.5 months, DS (now 3) was close to 19. He was sleeping through the night much earlier on and taking 40 yes FORTY oz per day. She takes between 28-30. That is likely the reason he slept better. He was SO much more easy going, likely the reason we found a consistent, awesome schedule so early on. DD's schedule changes a bit everyday. Different temperament, different schedule, you have to deal differently

I would be thrilled if DD2 only woke once during the night - she wakes up 2-3 times, sometimes more!
DD1 didn't STTN until she turned 1!

I know how you feel, my DD is almost 5 so it was challenging early on. I can tell you that with my DS that as soon as he upped his bottles at 2 months old he dropped the night feeding and was SSTN from 8pm to 7am. He's just over 4 months now and takes (5) 6oz bottles a day, he's been doing that for quite some time now. Sometimes he'll take 7-8oz for that last bottle before bed.
I really think it's a hunger issue so I would try upping the bottles during the day but it may take her some time to actually drink more. Start adding an extra ounce and see how she does. Good luck!!

Re: Come in if your 3 month old does/did still wake up for a night feeding
Wait - what would you be *worried* about??! Besides your lack of sleep (which is a concern, don't get me wrong!), there's nothing to actually WORRY about, right??
My older DD was sleeping through by 3 mos.
My LO drove me BANANAS with her inconsistence at night for nearly FOUR months (4-8 mos old). We would have an entire week of 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep, and then BAM, waking up again. I thought I was going to lose my mind (I think I did at one point). That said, had I just ACCEPTED that some babies are like that, it would have made my life much easier. She has been steadily sleeping 12 hours since 8 mos now. Thank GOD.
Hang in there!!!

I think what I'm worried about is that I did something wrong...like, if she was sleeping fine before, what did I do to mess it up? As a teacher, it is so hard to just admit that this is something I can't control or fix so I'm always looking for something else to "do" to try to make her sleep better. I have a hard time letting go. I also keep comparing her to her brother which is wrong, I know. It's so hard to stop myself though.
Thank you to everyone who replied! Sometimes I read on here how LO's are STTN so early and I feel like there's something "wrong" with DD.

Re: Come in if your 3 month old does/did still wake up for a night feeding
When I told Ped at 2 month appt that DS started skipping his middle of the night feeding they told me NEVER go back to giving it to him, it if stopped it he didn't need it and he was just looking for comfort out of habit. We never did... he is 5.5 months and have never given in if he woke up for any reason. Still sleeps through. Best advice ped gave us!
Sounds like maybe you should up the intake during the day and she is just needing more in total.
